Content good, app has lost access to issues page
The content is very good, as it has been for decades. Something has gone wrong with the app on IPad making it unreadable - nothing appears on the 'issues' page.

You can purchase single issues or subscribe within the app to receive every issue of the magazine. Subscriptions include access to the current issue and any back issues.
The monthly issues cost £4.99
Available subscriptions are:
1 month: £3.99 (latest issue + access to back issues for one month)
12 months: £34.99 (latest issue + access to back issues for 12 months)
- The current subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration at the current subscription rate for the product.
- You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however, no cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period
- Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication.

Keeping the past present
Like many history graduates, I’ve retained my passion for the discipline even if I’m not working in the field. History Today is an ideal way to keep that passion fed. I particularly enjoy its breadth and variety, even as it shows up how woefully limited in chronology and geography was my own formal study of the subject!
Back to history
I first read HT nearly 40 years ago on the recommendation of a teacher and enjoyed its different take on history compared to our text books. After a long break it’s great to see that the plurality of voices, topics and debates are as strong now as then. Thank goodness.

Excellent range of articles. Always interesting.
Complete waste of time and Money
Useless app, worse support. Really, just don’t bother.
Fine design
Well illustrated,finely researched and well balanced articles. A free well designed app included in subscription.
Great magazine but...
The app doesn’t offer abstracts/previews of articles just the titles. For those who want to dip in and out rather than subscribe this is a major shortcoming. I use the app to view the contents but often prefer to buy the physical magazine - the format of the physical magazine is very good indeed.
Search function
Can’t seem to find a search function, which I would have assumed would have been a given for the History Today app.

Brilliant app!
Excellent - a history fix whenever you want it
Lovers of history should download and subscribe ASAP. The new format is excellent; the articles more scholarly than those in other popular history magazines - while remaining approachable and interesting; and the expanded content (including weekly mini-magazines to go alongside the monthly main issue) means there's always something fascinating to read.
