Why is there no option to save work as an image? (Not a configuration)

impcat (short for Interactive Miniature Painting Catalogue) is a simulator for photorealistic painting results on gaming and tabletop miniatures.
This tool gives you a variety of miniature images with individually customizable body sections, that you can paint with colours you own or perhaps wish to purchase. It works with predefined colour palettes, using names and values as promoted by their manufacturers.
To achieve a high quality result the system simulates a four step painting process:
Base colouring, layering, shading and highlighting.
Features:
- A set of 6 built-in miniatures, by Artel "W", with up to nearly 30 individually paintable sections
- A set of built-in colour palettes, as well as additional palettes from our DLC server (around 1000 paints to choose from, and growing)
- A file handling system for importing custom image and paint templates (visit impcat.de/faq for instructions)
- Access to a growing online library of free DLCs (visit impcat.de/about for full list of contents)
- An automated complement recommendation mode that lets you select a base colour and then automatically applies harmonizing layer, shade and highlight paints, which you can then customize at will.
- A photorealistic simulation of the applied paints.
- A shopping list generator that collects the data of all applied colours and gives you the links to the corresponding shop pages
- Saving and loading options for your colour configurations
- A colour creating tool, for creating opaque and metallic paints of any colour you like
- A colour mixing tool, for testing mix results of your paints
- A randomizer, for getting colour scheme inspiration by letting impcat ramdomly distribute a set of colours across the model

It simply great
Many thanks to developers of this great application. It is very helpful when you need to imagine how paints and their combinations will look on a miniatures. It is simply great and worth its money. I wish luck and profit to developers. And I look forward to adding more paints manufactures and miniatures.
Decent but limited
No easy way to import GW models or paints. No tyranids or alternative models available
Online Mini Painting At It’s Finest
I have seen some bad reviews for this, but they’re all from a couple years ago and I do not believe they do it justice. I’ve been using this for a little bit now and it’s everything I wanted!
Not sure
All the images show a space marine as an example. It was the only reason I wanted the app. They are the models I collect. The app has no space marine image!!!! So disappointed
Very limited Range
The product is great for painting the 40 models in the system. But they are for ranges I don’t really collect.
WH40K .svg models required
Please add Warhammer 40K .SVG models to your app as well as citadel paint colours references as it will really boost your app popularity!
It has potential but doesn’t explain anything...
Overall the ability to try out paint schemes before applying it to the model is great and gives you an idea of what the finished model would look like. Unfortunately the app doesn’t explain anything to you. It doesn’t explain or make it clear how to import other miniatures from files people have created which was a big selling point for me since the very limited range already installed on the app is poor. After a while I gave up trying to figure it out and deleted the app. Even the website doesn’t explain how to do anything which is a shame. I may try the app again further down the line.
A useful tool
The UI is a bit clunky, and I’m running into some issues with the touch locations for some buttons (particularly in the bottom right). On large models it can be annoying trying to pick out individual parts but that isn’t really the app’s fault For some reason all of the pop-up tool tips are in German which is more funny than it is annoying. Importing models and paints was strange but doable. The reddit community r/impcat has good guides for doing this. Overall, it’s useful and not all that expensive at £3 so I’m happy with it

The app is a great way to try bold colours and save time
