Walking Eye app by Insight Guides
Insight Guides’ brand-new Walking Eye app connects printed travel guides (published 2016) with digital destination content and eBooks.
The container app provides standard free content in a chosen destination and includes:
•Activities – free access to a range of local guided tours and sightseeing activities, with the option to book
• Inspire me – our travel blog, updated on a daily basis, which helps you to plan your trip, explore local culture and have truly special experiences
• Ebooks – browse a list of our eBooks, which are available free to customers who have bought a printed book to the dedicated destination, or for purchase individually
• Destinations – browse a list of all available destination premium content for the app, available for free to customers who have bought a printed book to the dedicated destination, or for purchase individually
• Ships – hundreds of independent reviews of river (from May 2016) and ocean (from August 2016) cruise ships available for free to customers who bought a printed edition of "River Cruising in Europe" or "Cruising & Cruise Ships", or for purchase individually

This provides curated premium destination content and full access to all of the app’s information and functions, which is also completely available offline:
• Frequently updated hotel, restaurant and shop listings, carefully chosen and recommended by local experts
• Highlights and places of interest divided by category or region
• A to Z of practical information - a complete directory of handy travel tips on everything from visa regulations to local etiquette
• Around me option to find places of interest nearby
• You can plan a trip, creating a list of your chosen places to visit by adding them to Favourites, or add your own places
• Share your experience with friends using email, Twitter or Facebook
• Access to update for the latest listings following verification of your ownership, or purchase of the destination content

Perfectly fine app
There is quite a lot of information in the app. Very usefull if you like to go backpacking and dont want to bring the whole book
Poor app
Very slow. Not able to registrate.
Guide is a Waste of Money
I downloaded the ebook after buying the Glasgow Guide book at Waterstones. I was suckered by the promise of more info on the app. The ebook I downloaded wouldn’t open on my iPhone 12. After downloading the ebook to my phone it disappeared from the app so I had no access to it at all. The guide book is poor. No general info on public transport systems in Glasgow, for instance. Wish I hadn’t bought it. Total waste of money.
No Free eBook or App as advertised on purchase of paper book
As per review by another person there was no eNook or app available as promised on the real book cover. Please fix this problem or refund me my book price £16.99
App useless as won’t read QR code
Title says it all really
App cannot load QR code
Try to use the QR code listed in the front of the newly purchased inside guide to Japan, but this feels to work. When replying to the support team, the prompts refer to which iPhone model I have “e.g. 6”, showing how out of date this software is given we are now at model 14. A prompt to upload any fault on the page with a photograph (screenshot), crashes me out of the support page. Given the comments from other users, it doesn’t look like there has been any attempt to try and improve this app in many years.
E-book download
Bought the book, tried to download the ebook for when we’re out and about, no chance. Doesn’t work, waste of time and money. Wish we’d just bought a decent ebook instead as taking a book out with us is not really practical. No idea about content as I assume it’s as out of date as the app!
