InVintory: Wine Collecting

How good this app is for you really depends on your specific needs. The cellar management aspect is great, and I appreciated the ease of setting up cellar sections and getting bottles in them. But if you want to maintain detailed information about your wines in any way other than long text notes, this isn’t for you. Hopefully in the future they will add fields for such info as appellations, alcohol percent, quick drop downs for classic characteristics like acidity, sweetness, tannins, etc. Until then, I’ll continue to rely on other apps.

Last update removed the ability to default to column view. What a huge pain. Can no longer find a way to give feedback to the developers so here we are.

I got this app to keep track of bottles in my medium sized wine fridge. I like a lot of the features like being able to number my bottles as to location. I’d like to recommend a few improvements… 1. I want to edit varietals. One of my recent purchases lists a wine that isn’t in the 2022 wine. 2. On my iPod when I try to edit location, cellar location or address the keyboard pops up and then vanishes. It takes several tries and quick fingers to keep the keyboard showing. I’d consider a paid subscription but not yet. One huge bonus is not having to sort through 40 some bottles to find a wine. I ordered tags for my bottles so I can select a wine and then find it very easily! Great job!

My girlfriend and I are new collectors, and this app has helped to not only organize our budding selection but also to discover new wines we like. The 3-D tool to find wines in our fridge is immensely helpful, as is the ability to sort in drink window. Most impressive might be the beta AI somm. Recommendations for pairings, new wines to discover, and a charming personality has made those interactions enjoyable, memorable, and useful.

I recently inventoried over 1000 bottles into the app. It was extremely easy to add the bottles, about 90% where in the database and the few that werent we added through the app without difficulty . I would say improvements could be made in the following areas: multiple cellars, although you can register wine to multiple cellars, its not simple to distinguish between cellars when looking for wines . Pret a boire: i am looking for a wine for this evening, why not have a function that lets me see what wines are in the drinking window, based on wine type and cepage etc. All in all , my favorite wine app.

Don’t understand why the development team changed the interface. It was perfect. Now everything is buggy. When you choose a bottle and want to move it to a different position, you can’t ever scroll down to all of your shelves on a fridge to choose the one you want. Also, for some reason, when you are in your fridge and click an open spot, it won’t generate bottles that aren’t already placed in a position. EVERYTHING WAS FINE BEFORE YOU MESSED WITH IT! There is no more like neutral or hate option so you can archive the wine and decide to rebuy or not. It’s like they decided to change all the good things. Don’t understand it. I’ve been using this app for years…very frustrated.

I’m mostly pleased with this App except, as with other Apps I’ve tried, location information is discarded after consumption. It would be especially useful to be able to select a location from a list of available ones. All my wine club deliveries arrive around the same time so there 20+ locations I have to first find (bottles can roll something to the next location) and then reenter information I have previously entered. Please consider this enhancement.

My kids set this up for me a year and a half ago, inventoried all my wine, and I’ve loved the app since. When the original subscription expired I had an issue seeing where my wine was located. Emailed support and they trouble shot the issue right away. Got me pointed in the right direction. I got my problem solved. They followed up a week later confirming a refund, cancellation of a second account I accidentally setup, and instructions for getting the right email back into my account. Best customer support ever, and the app is great!

You no longer have the option for choosing how much you liked a wine and whether or not you’d rebuy. I used to use this info all the time to decide to purchase more. The app is also no longer allows for copy and pasting wine names. The date added/purchased has disappeared for many of my wines. Many wines have wrong varietal or region/subregion and when send in a report to have change it doesn't actually get changed (it used to work in the past).

Many wines are missing or incorrect. You cannot edit. You can only submit for review. They never reply to a review. This was just to play with personal bottles at home. As someone who runs cellars for a living and as someone with OCD who likes his wines labeled perfectly, this app is not for me. And certainly not for anyone on a professional level from what I have seen. Not at all impressed. Disappointed, honestly.
