## Irish Grid Ref Compass Description
Find out your current location on an Ireland or Northern Ireland Map.

This app will give you your Irish Grid Ref - Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSI) / Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) grid reference format - along with a Compass Bearing and Latitude and Longitude values in both OSGB36 and WGS84 formats.

The accuracy of the Device GPS signal will also be shown.

Includes a handy graphical guide to the Irish "National Grid" system.

Whilst the app will work worldwide, the values given will only be of use within the The Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland (United Kingdom).

Ideal for use Walks. Always carry a map and physical compass in addition to your iPhone.

For the best accuracy, use in an open space, away from trees or hill edges.

Like a traditional compass, use with the phone in a flat position, not upright.

When continued usage is required, you can set the iPhone Screen to stay on indefinitely, from the Settings tab.

Send or Share your location information in a Text Message (or iMessage), Email or Tweet*

This app requires Location Services to be enabled in your iPhone, and you must grant permission to the app to use these.

Compatible with iPhone. Not compatible with iPod Touch, or (non-cellular) iPads, due to the lack of GPS and Compass hardware. 

* - Internet Connection, and correctly configured Text Message (or iMessage), Email and / or Twitter settings, required to fulfil.

To find a grid ref or a lat n long ...
Is so simple .. open the app..
Then the best bit all rescue teams will appreciate is no repeating no misunderstandings no mistakes , because SENT lets you sent a email direct to your MRCC . Perfect as poor signal or vhf radio always makes this a monstrous job of repeat and frustration.

I am a big fan of this app! It does exactly what it promises to do, pinpointing your location and giving you the OS grid ref, and the equivalent GPS coordinates. An app like this is so handy when confirming your bearings, but it also provides peace-of-mind in that, in the event of some trouble, you can pinpoint your exact location with ease. Thank you!

Good app although extremely basic features. It would be a lot better if you could also input a grid ref and get receive a bearing and distance to it! Also an option to switch the compass or mills would be excellent. I'd pay for that upgrade!

Think this app falls short on what's really required here. There should be an option to set the compass to mils as well as degrees and should be a screen in which you can view your location on the ground through satellite imaging similar to google maps. Although the instant lat/long feature and 10 fig grid reference info is excellent. All in all though a waste of 89 cent.

This is a great  custom compass for the Irish grid. The interface is intuitive and simple, the design is clean with no gimmicks.  This app gives you your referenceon the Irish Grid (which covers Ireland and Northern Ireland) so you should read the description first to be sure that this is what you want.

The ability to send your location by text message, e-mail or tweet is a vital inclusion.  If you''ve been looking for a specialiised grid ref compass for the Ireland grid, you've found it.
