The blocking of NerdFonts means that a lot off TUIs break. Also you have to overwrite the internal repos so Apk gets you current Neovim instead of the ancient one that didn’t even support Lua.

Once you upgrade the repos, everything results in Bad System Calls. But at least you can install Neovim from later last year instead of the ancient one. Everything on Alpine is majorly outdated. Some packages from years ago.

### ***** "The best Linux based terminal on iPad"
This app has become my new friend. I really enjoy using it, because I don’t have to worry about corruption or bad file management, since it comes with a new directory like a virtual machine. I use NeoVim quite a lot and this app enables me to even use it on the go. I’ve been searching for a VSCode App or an alternative, but always was disappointed, when it came to terminals, until I discovered NeoVim, a in my view better editor than VSCode.

But there were a few things I would have liked to be different.
First of all, I would have appreciated scrolling with two fingers and generally more gestures, eg. swiping left with three fingers is undo and left is redo. More gestures would be beneficial, since then one would be able to scroll, select and left and right click, without the use of an external keyboard.

Also a customizable keyboard would be useful for Vim or other things. Picture this: an edit section, that allows users to add new buttons to the row above the actual keyboard and to add buttons in the actual keyboard, that either output just one key or multiple in a row for commands. Also it could output keys, not present in the usual keyboard or a different keyboard layout, with more swipe action to get to symbols like ~ {} _ even quicker.

Thank you so much for this app, I hope you like my idea and maybe will add it soon to this app.

Es ist endlich soweit das auch mal Apps Einzug erhalten auf die man schon lange gewartet hat.
Das kleine und schlanke Linux lässt kaum Wünsche offen!
Mir fehlt zwar noch neovim aber vom macht seinen Job auch.
Daher will ich mich nicht beschweren, die App ist mal richtig gut und ein Traum für alle die nicht nur spiele oder im Web surfen wollen.

Wenn jetzt noch Apple endlich mal so intelligent wäre wie Samsung und eine volle Bildschirm Unterstützung anbietet bin ich glücklich!😅

Sadly, the current version isn’t usable. I tried programs that should be working according to the Wiki: sshd, git clone, bash. Everything runs but crashes almost immediately. The emulator even freezes while running nothing at all, just the shell in foreground. I would gladly pay for something like this if it actually worked!

This app is to iOS what Cygwin is to Windows. Really appreciate the effort that has gone into building it and the minimalism of the app interface that just disappears (saving screen real estate) and let’s you focus on what you want to do with it. For me I just needed vim, git and ssh and iSH delivered it all and a lot more!

Das ist ein richtig nützliches Werkzeug, um am iPhone oder iPad Unix-Befehle (falls bekannt) zu nutzen. Mein Favorit: cal 1970, wobei die Jahreszahl variabel eingesetzt werden kann. Es erscheint der komplette Kalender des gewünschten Jahres, inkl. Wochentagen. Wann war also z.B. der 3.03.2001? Na, klar: ein Samstag. (Ich weiß: Mathegenies können so etwas im Kopf. Für uns andere gibt‘s solche Apps!)

I am a computer science student in Germany and I was looking for a good way to write C code on my iPad, preferably offline. But of course we are talking about Apple here… And there was no really good option in my opinion. And an emulated Linux-like shell is also far from ideal. But it is the best option I could find for what I was looking for, and it also is a good reason to learn how to exit Vim xD My only Laptop is from 2014 and the battery doesn‘t last as long as I need it to. And I am not in a situation where I could simply buy a new one. So this really helped me to write Code when I am not at home. So, thank you :)
And I just saw on GitHub that most of the Code is written in C which I am currently learning at University. So maybe I will even be able to contribute to the development one day :)

Auf dem iPad haben mir bisher immer Möglichkeiten gefehlt sinnvoll und effizient mit Texten bzw. textbasierten Daten zu arbeiten. iSH stellt eine Linux Shell Umgebung bereit, in der die GNU coreutils, und über die busybox auch awk, sed, grep et al verfügbar sind. Vim als Texteditor meiner Wahl, Git als Versionsverwaltung, sowie tmux um mehrere Konsolen-sessions im selben Fenster offen zu haben sind ebenfalls zuverlässig über iSH benutzbar, was der App einen für mich großen Gebrauchswert gibt.
