I love this app, as someone with a long layman’s interest in Indian music it has opened up a whole world of possibilities and makes practising my guitar so much more enjoyable and has greatly tightened up my playing. I find it works just great for flamenco stylings too. The one improvement I would add would be a ‘fill’ button facility to add rhythmic flourishes here and there. Other than that it’s a fantastic tool that is excellent value for money.

no use for this app anymore since indian drummer came out. it syncs with other apps via link and midi, has better quality samples and allows programming of your own patterns.

Recording wasn't working on iPhone 8 and I am on iOS 14.4. After many calls with the developer and updates it is now resolved. It is also working my new iPad.thanks so much for your time and help Prasad.

I love tabla & I love this app. Fantastic for so many purposes. Quality sounds & rhythms. I’ve been using it for sooo many years so....For 5 stars it’s time for AUv3, more AUM & MIDI support and finally Ableton Link. This app could be the app of apps if it offered instances, midi & sync options of today’s pro music making apps and yours is a pro app. I totally understand it has all the sounds & feature set of Indian classical music for riaz, performance & recording but, the world it would open up for further exploration & combination with other apps would put this app (& your others eg iTampura) where it needs to be. This is without doubt already the premier app if you need a “shruti-box plus”. I am a western musician, self-taught in the sphere of Hindustani raags. As a practice tool, I find this app is incredibly useful, and gives a really authentic range of sounds to work with. Having spent a week or so getting to understand its capabilities and watching the informative videos on YouTube, I can say that this app is close to ideal in terms of its feauure-set. I make use of Audiobus2 on an iPad pro, and this lets the app record into Garageband very efficiently, greatly increasing its usefulness on-the-go. From a live performance standpoint, it can be used as-is. A useful feature to me would be the ability to create setlists under a tab, so it would be possible to save sets of specific mixes, tempos and tunings to use for performance accompaniment. This is in no way a criticism of the feature-set as it stands, but it might be a worthwhile development to incorporate into an app that is already so good... it is hard to think of ways to improve it. I think also that the ability to choose which beats within the Taal that the Manjira emphasises would be helpful... so in a 16-beat Taal like Addha/Sitarkhani/Punjabi, instead of the Manjira emphasising the first beat of each group of 4, it would be nice to have it just emphasise the first beat of 16... or some other subdivision. I think this would add some worthwhile versatility. Perhaps it could be a feature added as another tab within settings? The other point I would make is that I contacted the developer and received a response within a day. That level of engagement with end-users is rare in my experience, and very welcome. Congratulatons Prasad on creating such a professional app at such a reasonable cost.

Excellent app, I have used this app on a daily basis for nearly a decade, and it has never failed me. It is also indispensable when I am teaching Sitar. The list of Raags is very reasonable and it also allows for you to create your own custom setups for the rarer Raags. An extremely well thought out app, they didn’t miss anything. Well worth the investment. 💫

Hey! This a great sounding app and a lot of fun. I asked about Audiobus/IAA and the dev responded very quickly showing me where the setting was . I don’t see ableton link tho? That would be great.

I like the app. The tanpura sounds really nice but every few times I use the app it will not play the the swarmandal of the raag I want to sing. Instead it plays the swarmandal of the raag that I sang previously when I used the before. So unfortunately I had to uninstall and reinstall the app numerous amounts of times and have lost all of the raags that I have added to the app. This is an infuriating problem that should have never existed and should be fixed immediately if the developers care about the app instead of robbing people for an app that doesn’t work properly.
