Downloaded the app and paid for a pro subscription. Tried scanning several products in my supermarket and all I get is a bank white screen and no product info… Seems it only works with products already uploaded to the apps database - which even a pro users can’t upload new products, so not really useful for £30 a year subscription…. Not Happy, so contacted the app support folks two weeks ago and still no response

Update - now had a response from developer - blaming poor signal but I had full mobile signal and a strong internet connection so the supermarket walls are not the issue. Had the same issue at home when scanning products in the pantry - again full mobile signal and superfast broadband connection…. 😤

The trial version needs you to agree to a payment. I was looking forward to trying the app but this is a set up I will never participate with. Maybe look at say first 10 items free or something so people can get a feel for the app first. Sorry, it was set up in this way. A missed customer on this occasion.

I came across this App by complete accident, but what a brilliant accident to have! I’ve been looking for some time at UPF and what’s going to be good for me and what is really best left in Mawdor 😆 Having Multiple Sclerosis, I’m really interested in looking after my health, this App has been SO helpful, definitely worth purchasing, really opened my eyes to food I thought was healthy, but tea isn’t. It’s not anything to do with Calorie counting or anything like that, just honest information about the product and it’s process to make it, plus alternative healthy suggestions to help you make better decisions and choices, recommend 100%

This looks like a really good app, and it t be, but I have some reservations. 
Firstly, there’s no clarity about potential biases. Is the information provided the industry? Or by genuinely independent assessors? The app tells me that Product X is bad, but an alternative (usually much more expensive) product is better. But for all I know, this recommendation may be because there is a kickback – an incentive other than my best interests in getting me to buy the alternative product. 
The second reservation is the subscription. Actually, if the app is as good as it could be, and if it is genuinely unbiased, then £30 a year is probably just about right. But a free trial of only three days is nonsense. That’s only one trip to the shops. How am I supposed to give the app a fair test run in those conditions? Especially if I am to assess the quality and independence of the recommendations… No, the free trial is cancelled, and I’ll continue as I was. Because I’m not going to pay £30 for something that (for all I know) is simply a mechanism for transferring money to the developers and/or their buddies in the food industry.

I would have continued to use this app if there was a pay monthly option. It’s a good app and works well but the developers need to be up front that you’ll be charged the yearly amount after the free trial and not the £2.49 monthly fee it says on the sign up page. I couldn’t afford the yearly fee just now so cancelled the subscription and deleted the app.
