Lingvano - Learn Sign Language

I worked through the free units and thought they were great, but paying £17.99 a month or £120 outright for access seems absolutely absurd. What a shame as I bet you’d get a whole bunch more people willing to sign up even at the 9.99 a month price. Most people can’t afford £120 outright for an app and almost doubling the cost per month for those who cannot is truly unfair especially for an app aimed at educating.

You’re allowed 5 lessons of basic signs like hello, welcome, how’re you, etc, and then can’t progress unless you subscribe. The dictionary is also very limited. I searched “promise”, “meant”, and “best” and it didn’t have any of them or any alternative to them. The concept is good though. It’s a shame.

I have always wanted to know sign language and it is so easy yet beneficial. I have so many signs in 10 minutes.Thank you Lingvano.

Why they forcing me to pay

Was so cool to learn sign language until I have to pay for it🤷‍♀️

Little concerning that there has not been an answer to previously posted reviews, but I will throw my 2 pence in anyway. As others have mentioned it is a bit cha-ching for what you receive…also with the instruction, in my opinion the gentleman instructor is far more clear, easier to follow , to understand and is generally more engaging, the woman not so much, less expensive and not engaging at all. I will be doing another month and then moving on to a more reasonable programme.

The lessons i had were great, but after learning hello, goodbye, how are you, are you deaf? and some iconic signs for about 10 minutes it gets completely locked and all other lessons are unavailable unless you pay. This is disappointing and there should be a duolingo equivalent for BSL.

I was really enjoying the app and would have highly recommended. However, it has been stuck on milestone 9 for ages. I have tried every route to ask for help sorting this but have had no response from Linvago. Now I am going to ask for my money back as I am not able to proceed further and am unimpressed by their lack of help!

I’ve just started but I am having so much fun already, I’ve been learning for a while but struggling with putting all the signs together. I’m hoping this will help as I am slowly going deaf and don’t want to miss out on socialising
