Dark Mode is an essential feature today. Please, keep in mind some people will never use your app unless it has Dark Mode.

Love the idea and most of the execution, the privacy element is extremely temping and does put me at ease. But the lack of functionality compared to Grok is too much of a step down. I can’t talk to Lumo, but the main thing is the censored answers and refusal to make judgements on “sensitive topics” such as morality 🙄 which Grok will happily entertain, pushing back with what is known but willing to change it’s opinion when presented with new arguments/evidence. Also no ability to program or give instructions, which again after using grok seems incredibly limiting. Make these improvements and I’ll sign back up! What’s the point in having a privacy focused Ai if you can’t ask it difficult questions? It’s like being given a megaphone but also a script you can’t deviate from, it simply becomes an exercise in patience, what’s the point?

As a proton long subscriber, I find this App very disappointing as I can’t select image from iPhone to upload. Even though I can access iPhone’s photos album from browser version but I can’t upload them because it shows “file format not supported”. I tried with JPG, PNG and others but nothing work. It looks like the App is not a finished product.

Open source and privacy respecting means nothing if it’s not useful. Most AIs won’t help with certain requests for obvious reasons - but when asked what security implications there are from a very public recent event like the iPhone image vulnerability? Sorry I can’t help with that. It can’t help with anything seemingly.

What really blows me away about Lumo is that it actually uses true end‑to‑end encryption for every single chat – even for folks who aren’t tech‑savvy. As far as I can tell, it’s the only mainstream messenger that does this right now. Sure, it’s not the fastest or slickest app out there. Performance can feel a little sluggish compared with some of the flashier competitors. But the moment you realize the team behind it cares deeply about your privacy, those speed quirks start to feel a lot less important. To me, that says a huge amount about the company’s morals and beliefs. In a world where most services seem happy to harvest whatever data they can, Lumo’s “privacy first” stance feels pretty refreshing. Thank you for all the developers and engineers at proton. No dark mode and is slow,sometimes it doesn’t even respond with anything.

App does not support Apple Dynamic Text.

When other models have become close to stable as far as hallucinations go, you don’t put something like this out when it’s not ready! Everything that comes back is full on hallucinations! Double and triple check to verify, this shouldn’t be out yet!

I tested Lumo against Perplexity with work questions. Whereas Perplexity gave me good referenced answers, Lumo said it had no information on the topics. It also hallucinated that I had uploaded a file. I hadn't and told it so. It apologised but this app is artificial unintelligence. Pity. I pay for Proton’s other apps which are very good. What use is privacy if Lumo can't answer questions?
