Dynamic TDEE is killer feature. Love the app
I have academic papers and could not find out how to add new food, canceled the subscription. Very cluttered and unintuitive app. It needs a good ux-designer.
I love the app and I can‘t understand the negative comments concerning the barcodes outside the US - I live in Germany and I scan anything I want and it works! And to be really honest here: Mostly for items which I am not eating on regular basis, ice cream or something like that. Healthy unprocessed food has no barcode, so - you get what I am saying here. I used so many apps before like MyFitnessPal, Chronometer and so on but MacroFactor gave me results for the first time in my life.
I tried several different apps to track my competitive sport goals. That one is by far the first of all that really makes tracking easy. Wasn’t able to stick to tracking as all other apps have been overcomplicating in some way. MF really changed the way tracking goes. Five star, no regrets at all!!
Yes the food database outside of the Us is not the greatest (especially if you don’t have a barcode at hand). I live in Germany and I can’t find most of the stuff by searching for it by hand. But I can find a lot of things if they have a barcode. For the stuff that isn’t in the database at all, you can easily create and save your own products with just a few taps. Yes it‘s a struggle at first but once most of your frequently used items are in there it‘s not a big deal anymore. I do wish however, that they’d improve the search for people outside of the US. I can find many articles with no issues by scanning their barcodes. However, I can’t find the same product by searching for it manually. If it‘s evidently in the database I should be able to find it, no?
Have been using the app daily for quite some time now and found it super important in bringing objectivity to my nutrition. Great app and great team behind it
The app is great, the design the functionality etc. Food database is good too!
Im a Software Developer and seeing how well polished the app is and how good the design is done here makes me happy. Unfortunately I canceled the trial because (at least in Germany) the food database is not fun to use. There are quite a few things I eat every day that are not directly available in the database. I found myself repeatedly looking up alternatives from US products but they usually dont have the exact same macros and especially micro nutrients. So I will stick with another app for now.
The app is great and well made, very fast and intuitive. However for me ist not usable since almost no food is in the database, so you have to enter everything by hand, this is very inconvenient.
I had a good experience so far. One thing that bugs me a little is how the Custom Food Calculations work. With custom servings I have to calculate how many Calories something has per 100grams. A „per 100g“ Textbox besides the „Total Weight“ Textbox would be great. Than I would have the total weight of the Product, the Calories and Macros per 100 Gramms and could easily add a custom Serving (say 20g) without needing to calculate the Calories and Macros for one Slice! But I guess in Germany Calories on products are differently calculated than on products in the US.
