Just what I needed. I’ve been working out aimlessly, and needed a PT that doesn’t bug me needlessly. Even has built in set timers. Buying annual. Will update in a years time

MacroFactor nutrition is the best nutrition app on the market. MacroFactor workouts hasn’t yet lived up to its name. Clunky UI, overwhelming amounts of information that are not layered strategically, and occasional glitches.

I’ve been an avid user of MacroFactor for a full year now and love it. Love the idea of a workout tracking app but this one still has lots of room for improvement. These are just a few of my gripes:

- No watch app (yet)

I like being able to leave my phone in my locker and not having it around me during the workout. I’ve been using strong for years now and the simplicity of the app makes it my absolute go to. Hopefully there’s a watch app underway soon.

- A bit too complicated at first

For the workouts that don’t have a video to follow, I absolutely have no idea what I have to do. And when I try to read the description of the workout I get even more lost. I’m trying to get a workout in not do mental gymnastics of what I’m being asked to do and how to do it. I trust more videos will be coming out in the future so hopefully that gets better. 

- RPE 

Most of the exercise requires me to go to failure or a close to max rpe on the first set. How am I supposed to know what weight brings me to failure if it’s only the first set? I find myself thinking hey that wasn’t that bad on the first set and going harder on the second set when the app suggests to go for a lower rpe. Very confusing. And when I try to re-edit a previous sets rpe, It just removes the whole sets values as a whole. I’m only trying to adjust the rpe, why does it have to remove everything. 

Overall, I believe this app has huge potential and can see myself being subscribed to it in the near future once these kinks get fixed but till then, I’m gonna stick to a simple app like strong.
