Out of touch within its own corporate boundaries, Quicken has deteriorated from useful and accurate to useless and unable to connect with major Canadian banks. It is however, one of the few formats that Canadian financial institutions have for downloads of multi-month transaction history. So, I have to ask myself if it’s worth paying 80-90 bucks a year to have this alternative? Probably not.
Was hopeful at first, but budgets won't sync, account balances are often wrong and transactions are frequently missed. Super clunky and not user friendly. Will be looking for something else.
I can’t believe they charge 80 bucks yearly for this. Doesn’t work as evidenced by many of the other reviews
Stuck on loading screen after initial sign in. Same problem on iPhone and iPad.
The Mac software is incredible! I have the personal and business plan, and it does everything I need. The iOS app, however, doesn’t work. I can open it and put my login details in, but the only thing it shows after that is: “loading financial details” with a loading circle. It just loads and loads but doesn’t take me into the app.
Found this to be the closest “good” one to make do for decommissioning of Intuit’s Mint. But a long way to go in several areas: 1. Reduced reliance on the Desktop app and make it more mobile / tab friendly. C’mon…. This is 2024. High time already. 2. Support for more Canadian financial institutions. Even with the big banks, no all products sync through, e.g. mortgages. Inter-account money movement works a lot better here than it did Mint. Even setting up Budgets offers more flexibility than Mint did.
I’ve been a Quicken mobile user for many years and the latest version of the mobile app is so slow as to be practically unusable. You need to work on the app performance.
When will you implement hidden categories so that those that are hidden on desktop are also hidden on mobile companion?
It doesn’t work at all. All the account balances are WAY off and I can’t fix it. It just freezes when I try to do the fix.
