Really like the app

New version

After to a long hiatus (starting when we found out my late wife had cancer and continuing long after because I was lazy) I’m back on my bike. Since I had used Map My Ride so much before I continued with it. It’s easy to use and tracks the ride length, average speed, duration of the ride, number of miles, calories burned, and even the elevation change. The only thing I don’t like is that a couple of weeks ago they changed what you see. You used to see number of miles, duration, average speed, and current speed at one time. Now it rotates through one or two at a time. Really tough when you’re trying to watch where you’re going but want to see your speed or distance.

App update

I all of a sudden realized the change from an I used regularly to this disappointing replacement. How can an “update” morph into a completely different app? Seriously tired of just taking over a decision/choice that the user should have been involved in. 🤷‍♂️

Super easy to use

I use it to keep track of my workouts and hikes.

Missing function

Would like to have the app automatically pause when my bike is not moving. It’s not easy to keep pushing the pause button if you stop in a park to for a snack or to get more water.

Quick access-Go Team Go!

Simply outstanding accessibility. Unbridled accuracy. Accompanied by ease of use. Only complaint is having to endure (1) advertisement!!

Meh at best

I have used this app for 5 years… which is the only reason why I don’t switch to something like Strava - all my workouts are on it! Map My Ride App lacks many standard features: - I can’t search for a prior workout (or if there is a search function it is not obvious to me) - if I forget to stop tracking, there is no “drive off” notification and I can’t crop my workout. - I can’t export my GPS track. - logging a workout as a particular route is a cumbersome process manually scrolling through all my routes. - I can’t do any breakdown analysis of my workout to see my average pulse on a big climb - I am stuck with the App’s predetermined intervals. Shocking to pay $30 a year with so few standard features of an exercise tracking app. I would NOT purchase this App again. I really hope the Outside Group commits some resources to update it (or just retires it to give me an excuse to switch to Strava). P.s. the Developer responded to my review that these features are available on the website. I guess I need to bring my laptop on my rides.

Sync issue

Noticed for awhile, but tired of it and reporting it finally. There is a sync issue if you try to submit your completed workout with low/no network connectivity. I have to continuously toggle between the workouts and friends feeds to try and get it to reinitiate the submission. Sometimes it’s days of trying and I just give up. Had this issue on iPhone 16 pro max and iPhone 13. Seems to be consistent but across platforms.

Dark mode?

Everytime I open this app while im biking at night it feels like a flashbang grenade, dark mode would be nice.

Hoping for much needed updates

I have asked for over 15 years for settings to retain the changes made after logging out, but the developers refuse to address this issue – which is a MAJOR pain for someone whom always signs out, so they revert to the defaults every time. Was told numerous times it’s for people that share a phone. Who shares a phone? A lot of people even have more than one! Maddening I hope the new developers address this issue and bring the app into the present time.
