This app used to be fantastic, but the new UI removed some of this app’s best features-  namely, the ability to quickly toggle between the front and back camera with one button click, and the ability to pause the stream. In version 2, you could tap the NDI logo at the bottom of the screen. In the current version 3, tapping the lower NDI logo completely cancels the feed and requires I both restart it on the app AND in the software running on the Mac. This was not the case before. Please revert back to the simpler UI and feature set of Version 2. Many of these could be controlled in the settings menu so users can control what experience they need.

Every capture device I plug in results in horizontally mirrored video, making it functionally useless for my use case.

Interestingly this only affects the iPad display, the actual output is fine. But trying to monitor is EXTREMELY disorienting.

Like many mentioned this is a very useful and flexible app. We use it for our church live production but the recent update makes the app crash 3 times a day and the app never would crash. I have tried to reinstall things but I honestly liked the old layout more. Is there a way to revert?


The newest update doesn’t work with the desktop app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. What’s going on?

Over the past 4–6 years, my church has been using the NDI Camera app as a mobile camera to capture different shots during our services. Unfortunately, after the most recent update, the app has stopped working properly; the phone is no longer detectable in vMix or OBS. I’ve tested this on five different iphones, and none of them are working.

To make sure it wasn’t a network issue, I also tested NDI Camera Capture on my Galaxy S25, and it worked without any problems. This confirms the issue is directly related to the latest update.

This update has made it very difficult for us to run our livestreams, so I kindly ask that this issue be corrected as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!

I’ve been using the NDI Camera app for a while and it used to work well. However, ever since the most recent update, the app crashes consistently—almost every hour of use. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially since this is a paid app and not some free trial.

What’s worse is that it’s been four months since the update and there’s still no fix. No patches, no communication—nothing. I expected better from the developers. When users are paying for an app, there should be timely maintenance and support. At this point, it’s becoming unusable for any serious or professional work.

The app works well initially, but after about 30 minutes it either minimizes itself or loses focus, causing the stream to stop unexpectedly. It doesn’t fully crash, but something forces it out of the foreground, which makes it unreliable for longer streaming sessions. Based on this experience, I would stay away from NewTek developer products.

Really love the app, works flawlesly. I use it with poe ethernet connected to iphone to ensure feed and charge on the phone. One thing that i feel would make it even greater, is 60fps for those that use ethernet for sports replay. -side note, the app shuts down from time to time after the upgrade.
