Absolutely the best!

Absolutely the best journal on physics, biology, health …..

Too much

Clean up the pages, do not stack section vertically on the left AND with a dark background. You have to tap everywhere to find the magazine which I s really what you want.

Best science publication for the general reader...

...and has been for many years!

Soooo informative!

Brilliant and interesting to read all these facts. I can’t think of anywhere else where I could do this. I find it fascinating!!

Pretty good app with one main issue for me

It’s difficult to find the “search” button and the search function doesn’t work very well.

Uninvested

Still no real bookmark capabilities across device or online account. Also there is a very, very obvious error in bookmark management (removing) - classic case I suspect of the developer not understanding offset indices properly or whatever scheme was coded for. Ridiculously frustrating and contemptible lack of investment given the price tag. Doesn't help more 'opinion' is leaking out into the articles that are meant to be fact based, science and scientist based not author point scoring and profile marketing based.

Back to the fold

I retired at 78 and the income became critical. So NS had to be sacrificed. Now my wife has taken pity on my loss and on my 80 birthday. So now I am fully up ready running again. Yes!!!

Great content poor app

App is very 2017. Needs an update; worst part is that clicking notifications doesn’t load the article you clicked.

The content is good but the app is hard to navigate

I’ve had and got rid off the New Scientist app several times. The content can be good but it’s often a bit too superficial for even a non-scientist like me. But it has always been so. The one star is because the app remains basic and difficult to navigate. Where is the search function?? I get regular emails from New Scientist, I spot an interesting article but when I go to the app is it easy to find? No. Putting a magazine online or into an app isn’t just about dumping the content by topic, it should be a dynamic, active experience, leading you through the content that interests you. Maybe time for a bit of AI :)

New scientist is the go to magazine for science related articles. Highly recommend for all to read.
