## News Explorer Description
News Explorer is a full-featured yet easy-to-use RSS, JSON, Atom, Reddit, YouTube, Podcast, Bluesky and Mastodon news reader with iCloud synchronization between Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Full iCloud Sync
• News Explorer syncs your feeds, filters, folders, articles including statuses, notes and tags, across all your Apple devices.
• Synchronization is based on iCloud, so there is no need to login or to sign up into any other service, it just works out of the box.

Smart Filters
• Filter your news according your own conditions and preferences, easily accessible from the feeds list.
• Filters customizations are synced across all your devices.

Automatic Reader View
• Use automatic Reader view to download and read the full text version of truncated articles from supported sources.
• News Explorer makes use of multiple parsers to offer the best Reader view results.

Article Comments
• Read article comments from other readers directly in the app.

Article Notes

### ****- "Gute App, vermisse aber…"
1. die Schriftgröße der Feed-Liste anzupassen. Diese wird mir zu groß dargestellt.

2. die Möglichkeit, die Statusleiste (mit den 2 Buttons) beim Lesen des Artikels komplett abzuschalten und nicht nur automatisch ein- und ausblenden zu lassen. Das stört mich beim lesen oder scrollen durch die Liste ungemein.

3. den runden Button „alle markieren als gelesen“ von rechts oben z. B. flexibel nach rechts oder links unten zu legen, was viel handlicher wäre, gerade bei einem großen Display wie dem iPhone Max / Plus.

Mein bisheriges Fazit:
Mir gefällt diese App bisher zwar gut, auch, weil sie ein paar richtig nette Extras hat, aber ein endgültiger Wechsel von Reeder 5 zu News Explorer ist für mich derzeit noch keine Option, da ich täglich sehr viele Feeds lese und da Reeder 5 noch die Nase vorne hat. Deshalb sehe ich auch von einem Kauf der Mac Version derzeit noch ab.

Nach viel Ausprobieren bin ich nun beim News Explorer gelandet. Mich überzeugt vor allem die Bedienung (GUI) und das Preismodell. Ich hoffe die App wird noch lange weiter entwickelt und erhält  weitere sinnvolle Features ohne die Anwendung zu überfrachten.

Background push notifications are not working correctly (last background push notification is days ago). Therefore the background sync doesn’t work. So the widgets also don’t get updated. Please fix asap. App is unusable in this state and not working as advertised. It’s the same for the Mac app. If the sync doesn’t work correctly, then you shouldn’t advertise it. Response to developer: How about not lying regarding features, pushing an update or at least commenting something useful? Imagine you expect positive reviews for features that don’t work. Ridiculous.

I’ve been using News Explorer for the past years on a daily basis and have come to appreciate its customisable reading experience, syncing and thoughtful features. Two things I’d love to see improved: on my iPhone the app used to regularly crash if I use the horizontal swipe gesture from the left edge in order to return from an article view back to a feed’s list view. (Perhaps that’s now fixed since I couldn’t replicate it just now.) The other thing: please, please, please offer a 3 column view for the iPad! I want to see my list of feeds, the article list for each feed and the individual article all at the same time without have to navigate back and forth between the first two. My 12.9 “ iPad Pro has the horizontal width for that!

Durchdacht, gut konfigurierbar, schnell, übersichtlich - mein klarer Favorit unter den RSS-Readern. Insgesamt neun habe ich getestet, auch Reeder 5. News Explorer ist der beste. 

Einziges Manko und Verbesserungswunsch: Die Schriftfarbe des Preview-Textes in der Liste der Artikel ist grau und kann nicht geändert werden. Speziell im Dark Mode schwer lesbar.

An sich hat diese App alle Funktionen, die man von einem RSS Reader erwartet. Nur leider beobachte ich seit Jahren, dass die Synchronisation der bereits gelesenen Artikel immer wieder aus dem Tritt gerät. Ich habe mich mit dem Problem vor längerer Zeit an die Entwickler gewandt, deren Hinweise haben aber keine dauernde Besserung erbracht. Immer wieder wurden mir auf dem iPhone Artikel als ungelesen gezeigt, die auf dem iPad längst gelesen und auch entsprechend mit iCloud synchronisiert waren (und umgekehrt). Es ist auf Dauer nervend, wenn ich oft die bereits gelesenen Artikel mit der Hand als gelesen markieren muss. Ich habe jetzt die Nase voll und kehre nach Jahren zurück zu Reeder.

Bislang nutzte ich Newsify als bezahlte Pro Version. Zwar ein guter Reader aber auf die Dauer zu teuer und nicht auf dem Mac erhältlich. News Explorer gibt es für alle Apple Plattformen und ist pay once. Sie bietet enorm viele Funktionen und eine Sync mit der iCloud. Einziger Kritikpunkt: es gibt keine deutsche Übersetzung. Wenn das noch kommt, ist die App für mich rund und perfekt
