## News Explorer Description
News Explorer is a full-featured yet easy-to-use RSS, JSON, Atom, Reddit, YouTube, Podcast, Bluesky and Mastodon news reader with iCloud synchronization between Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Full iCloud Sync
• News Explorer syncs your feeds, filters, folders, articles including statuses, notes and tags, across all your Apple devices.
• Synchronization is based on iCloud, so there is no need to login or to sign up into any other service, it just works out of the box.

Smart Filters
• Filter your news according your own conditions and preferences, easily accessible from the feeds list.
• Filters customizations are synced across all your devices.

Automatic Reader View
• Use automatic Reader view to download and read the full text version of truncated articles from supported sources.
• News Explorer makes use of multiple parsers to offer the best Reader view results.

Article Comments
• Read article comments from other readers directly in the app. 
• Works with RSS feeds that has comment feeds per article, YouTube feeds, Reddit feeds and Hacker News feeds.
• Also works with most feeds from websites that use Open Web comments.

Article Notes
• Create rich text notes, directly in the context of the article.
• Notes are synced via iCloud together with the related article.

Feed Settings
• All aspects of a feed like title, source link or icon, can be adjusted in the Feed settings dialog.
• Disable the feed temporarily or permanently.
• Override app settings for syncing, downloading comments and reading articles.

Feed Prefilters
• Prevent the app from downloading articles you don’t want to see or read.
• Prefilters are synced via iCloud, and can be easily configured on feed level in the Feed settings dialog.

Article Inspector
• Inspect metadata, tags, media, notes and comments of articles in the Inspector panel.

This app is currently my go-to RSS reader.                  	* The ability to sync between my iPhone, iPad and MacBook is a big boon.             				* Also the ability to read comments about the posts is a plus. Unfortunately, it’s not clear to me what the source of these comments is. It was not explicitly said anywhere, but i was under the impression that by purchasing this app, I would be able to write my own comments as well. This is not the case. That is my mistake, this is not stated anywhere. 											* I also was under the impression that this app would save an x number of posts offline so that I can read in situations where there is no internet (like on a plane). This is unfortunately also not the case. A post is only downloaded when I open it to read. Fixing this one issue would immediately make this app more useful and beloved to me.

After te redesign. My app opens with “no selection” every time.
I touch the arrows to get a side bar with articles. Then I tap the sidebar icon to get another side ar. Then I can tap the ‘magazine’ view.

What a beauty. Finally after years of searching I found this. You can set it up exactly to your liking without having to many options. Very user friendly. Great layout which can be adapted to your liking. And very good and fast feedback by Ron if you have questions.

I switched to this app because it’s the only one that syncs across multiple devices. Unfortunately, I don’t entirely understand what syncing seems to actually do. The apps take plenty of time to sync each time, but nothing seems to actually download until the item shows up in the list of items. If you primarily read your news offline or if your connection isn’t very fast, this is a poor option, as the app doesn’t actually save any content, it just refreshes it every single time. If this app ever adds the possibility to download content (like most of its competitors do by default), then it might be the best feed reader.

This is now my primary news source. I used to hate news sites and TV programs, but now that is no longer a problem. I added feeds of all the news outlets that I care about and now read all news much much easier. This app has many settings, allowing to make it work for what you need. Only the Apple TV app could have larger font sizes, but the rest is perfect. Easy browsing, searching, favorites and I like the magazine layout and photo gallery inside articles. It is perfect.

Perfect app with iCloud sync that I’ve been waiting for ever since Google Reader was discontinued. Developer seems to prefer providing a long list of confusing settings, which would be better of just working in one way with no option to choose from.
