## Nintendo Switch Parental Cont… Description
Nintendo Switch Parental Controls™ is a free app that allows you to easily monitor your child's use of the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. 
(Please note: A Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console is required to use this app.)

◆ Set a daily play time limit
You can set how long you'd like your child to be able to play for each day. It's possible to choose different settings for each day of the week, and you can also set it so that the game on the console is suspended as soon as the play time limit is reached.

◆ Manage your child's GameChat settings
If you choose to allow your child to use GameChat, you can manage which friends they can chat with and decide whether they can use video chat.
Note: The GameChat feature can only be used on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.

◆ View your child's play activity
You can easily check which games your child plays and for how long. You'll also receive a monthly overview of their gameplay activity.

◆ Set restrictions based on your child's age
You can choose to restrict the games your child can play and the features they can use based on their age.
 
Attention:
● In order to use the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, a parent or guardian (aged 18 or above) needs to have a Nintendo Account.
● You can set purchasing restrictions, including restrictions on purchasing products and services in Nintendo eShop, in the Nintendo Account settings.
● In order to make use of all of the features and settings available in the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, all linked Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles need to be using the latest system version.

The new Parental Controls released ahead of the Switch 2 are a step in the right direction, but still have a long way to go.

The ability to set time limits in 5-minute increments and start limits the next morning is a great improvement. However, syncing now seems less reliable than in the previous version of the app.

Key features are still missing — especially co-parenting support, where both parents can manage screen time from separate accounts, and an action log so each parent can see what changes were made.

Overall, it’s a nice update, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement. Also, there’s no way to report bugs or request new features, which is frustrating.

This is probably the worst piece of software ever made. Kids know more about these things than parents, so you would think Nintendo would make it easy. Oh no, nothing makes sense. There is no direct correlation to what the console asks you to do, to what you are asked to do on this software. 

I’ve had to delete my child’s profile on the device and put his on as an adult (he’s 9) as you can’t make any changes that as a parent, you feel fit for your child to have access to.

Setting total play time limit applies to all switch profiles rather than individual profiles. Someone else already used the total time before you use the switch? - then you have no time left. But that is inconsequential as anyone can carry on playing and ignore the ‘times up’ alert. There is also no way of stopping anyone else playing on your profile and wrecking your game.

I have to agree with a lot of reviewers in relation to the app when it comes to controllability and flexibility with multiple users and online play. One of my main issues is that you cannot set up specific times of play...e.g. a certain profile can only can play at 5pm to 6pm on certain days. 

The huge technology advances that Nintendo have made when developing the switch is greatly let down by the archaic app design. Very disappointing

I’m really disappointed in this app, when I put in the pin for my 8 yr old son to play online with his friends, the restrictions are lifted! There needs to be another online pin so the parent can Crete a time limit and then suspend play Online. Also needs to be a house group option that other parents can all agree on time limit so son and friends can finish the same time. Seems ridiculous that this is not available in the times we are living in
