This is the best player I have tested for the Ipad. It can access and download files from my NAS in several ways! It plays many formats including mkv and mp4. I've also used it to browse my photo library (also on my NAS). I hope they add more photo viewing options (like zooming and panning). 
I was unable to play sound on one file with DTS 6 ch, 
but otherwise I'm super happy.

nPlayer is an excellent player that plays almost everything. The connection options are also excellent, with FTP, dlna, cloud etc etc.

Just wish it would play movies encoded with DTS audio...
