NRSV: Audio Bible for Everyone

Fantastic narration, but could you please add a feature to increase the read speed? 1.2x would be good.

This is easy to use, audio is clear and pleasant and very, very reasonably priced. Thank you.

The App needs one vital change - the ability to continue play once the phone screen locks. I waste so much battery power by having to set the phone so it never locks while I listen.

Had to mark this down due to the search facility not working. It finds the relevant scriptures and lists them but you can’t go into those verses to read or view them.😕

The complete NRSV Audio bible with full audio for £0.99 has to be one of the best value modern English audio apps available. The reading is very clear and at s nice tempo. Suggestions for improvement would be to allow audio to play when iPhone screen is off for Bluetooth listening. Update: The developers have done this and it does now play with the screen off. Excellent responsiveness to feedback! Also would be nice to have the verse being read aloud highlighted as it goes. I am delighted with this app for the price.

If you’d like to get a brilliant audio Bible, this is it!

I bought the app so that I could use the audio version. It’s good if you would like me app to audio read the bible to you as it does in chapter or verse singular version. However in a church for old, New Testaments and Gospels it’s selected for example Genesis 12 verses 9-12. Unfortunately this app does not allow you to do this, audio read. It would be great if the app could be improved to read sections like the Church of England have used in their Live Lent Course.

This expensive subscription product lacks the basic NRSV notes that come with every printed edition. It lacks more than basic search and annotate functions. The actor commissioned for the audio function has a pleasing voice but an occasionally idiosyncratic reading style. I requested an immediate refund for these reasons (but might have tried the product for longer if the text came with the usual NRSV footnotes).

I really like this app. NRSV is my go to version and I find the 'immersive' experience of listening to and reading the text helpful. I don't usually pay subscriptions for content which won't change but actually £20 a year for the complete OT and NT For Everyone commentaries is a bargain. And the customer support was really good too.
