Booked a table through this site which I have used with success before. Table was with the Cinnamon Club for Tuesday lunch. Over the weekend two of our party went down with flu. Tried to cancel first thing Monday and they washed their hands of the process and told me to call the restaurant direct. Did so and they advised of a £300 cancellation fee, £50 per head when the set menu is £35. In other words sneaky, hidden and massively expensive.  And of course they have my credit card so can bill be without consent. 

So has worked ok in the past when all went fine but frankly I will never book through them again, always phone the restaurant when where any hidden charges will have to be made clear and never give them your card details in advance.

Irritating that you don’t trust your customers to know where they want to eat. Also having picked a time on the dropdown for 7:30 you then have to press the time AGAIN on the main page (which has different times) to progress the booking.

Biggest dining problem I have is finding dog friendly place to eat. 

When OpenTable asks for feedback, dog friendly is one of the questions!

It should be much easier to specify cuisine and locale than it is. Search has a tendency to focus on restaurants we’ve visited before - it shouldn’t be so biased. But most of all, diners need the ability to “block” poor quality establishments from search results so we never hear about them again.
