## Oticon Companion Description
This app lets you control your hearing aids from your mobile device. It comes with an app for Apple Watch helping you discreetly change programs and adjust volume (when within Bluetooth range).

Just a note: some features may be available depending on your hearing aid model. Check below for details.

•	Adjust sound volume for each hearing aid together or separately
•	Mute surroundings for better focus
•	Switch between programs set by your hearing care professional
•	Check battery levels
•	Use SpeechBooster to reduce background noise and enhance speech (available for all hearing aid models except Oticon Zeal™, Jet PX, Zircon, Opn™, Ruby) 
•	Stream calls, music, and podcasts directly to your hearing aids (availability may vary depending on your phone model)
•	Find your hearing aids if lost (requires location services always turned on)
•	Access app support and troubleshooting solutions
•	Meet your hearing care professional for an online visit (by appointment)
•	Adjust streaming sounds with streaming equalizer (available for all hearing aid models except Oticon Opn™ and Oticon Siya)
•	Adjust sounds around you with sound equalizer (available for Oticon Zeal™,  Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Real™ models)
•	Track your progress with HearingFitness™ feature (available for Oticon Zeal™, Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Real™ models)
•	Handle wireless accessories paired with your hearing aids such as TV Adapters, Oticon EduMic or ConnectClip
•	Connect to and adjust an Auracast™ broadcast (available for Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Zeal™ models) 

First use:
You need to pair your hearing aids with this app to use it to control your hearing aids. 

App availability:
The app is compatible with most hearing aid models. If you have hearing aids from 2016-2018 and haven't updated them yet, a hearing aid update is required for this app to work. We recommend regular hearing aid updates during your routine check-up with your hearing care professional.

For optimal performance, we recommend updating your device to iOS 15.2 or later.

I’m happy with the Oticon Intent 1 hearing aids. I’ve had them for 18 months. I’ve had one problem - the Bluetooth receiver in the right aid went faulty but that was quickly repaired. The App is OK. The only issue is that the hearing aids do not connect automatically to the App. This means that if you do not use the App  then no wearing time metrics are gathered for that day.

I have just received a new pair of hearing aids Which are working well with the aids, the only thing I have noticed when the iPhone 14 on iOS 17.1.6 is locked if I slide the locked screen it shows the battery state of the phone and the aids but sometimes only one aid is showing, but when I look later both aids are shown. In either case the app itself always shows the batteries in both aids so over all the aids and the app work well. Please do not suggest I update the iOS as iOS 18 does not go down with me. I have recently updated my iPhone 14 Pro to 26.1 and now this app now does not make contact with my aids very often when started so can not change the type of hearing but does display the battery status when screen moved left from Home Screen

As a new hearing aid wearer since 2 months, the hearing aids are fantastic and the app is good. There could be some minor improvements to bring such as easier access to HearingFitness by placing option in HeRing aids tab. 
Re pairing my hearing aids to my new iPhone was seamless.

I’ve used the app for over two years.  It is intuitive to use, but slow.  I’ve not needed Oticon app support until a few weeks ago, after an Oticon app upgrade resulted in my aids disconnecting from my phone at three inconvenient times.  Each time Oticon app support has been brilliant (5*) - quick and responsive - and, as I’m not the only one with this problem, they say that the problem has been passed on to the app developers to correct. Why haven’t the app developers addressed the problem yet?

Recently my app seems to have been updated to a newer version. Unfortunately this has led to continual problems which the earlier version didn’t experience. I have tried all the standard resolutions- all to no avail. Pity I can’t revert to the previous version which worked. The issue is lack of pairing to one aid. This prevents control on my phone. Hopefully a fix for this update will be available in due course. In the meantime I’ll continue to use the hearing aid’s control to operate one side.

The Oticon App has been both useful and invaluable. One one occasion I lost one hearing aid. I only missed it once home but suspected I’d lost it at my allotment across town. I returned after dark, at midnight, and was able find it in minutes in the grass using the App’s location facility.

I am also impressed with the help team when I had a problem with one hearing aid 
refusing to link to the App after a battery change. Despite my doing everything the App recommended. The response was instant, helpful and personable. Quite a refreshing change from the usual response one often experiences from a retailer or manufacturer in the event of a problem.

Ive been using this app with my very expensive hearing aids for approximately ten months now.   Loving the ability to control my hearing aids in different environments . One criticism / observation is that i wear mine for 12 hrs  a day plus. Yet the “hearing fitness” feature frequently seems to show that I’m not wearing them. Often for consecutive days. Bluetooth is always enabled too. Any clues?
