This happens about every 2-3 hours. Plex freezes, typically as reaction to me skipping back a few seconds. iPhone does not react - I cannot switch apps, buttons do nothing. Sometimes the Plex app just vanishes after a few seconds. and I am back at the home screen. Sometimes nothing but an iPhone reboot helps. Pity, its a nice app otherwise.

Leider bleibt die App unter IOS 26.2 hängen sobald man die Kategorie oben links auswählen will.  Bei Android funktioniert es, liegt also tatsächlich an der App. Neuinstallation brachte keinen Erfolg.

Die App erledigt ihre Kernkompetenz das Streamen sehr gut aber viele Features die das verwalten angeht fehlen leider.
So ist es nicht möglich Sammlungen zu erstellen/bearbeiten oder Nutzer zu verwalten für sowas muss mal über den Browser. 
Auch eigene Preroll Trailer werden nicht abgespielt.

Nutze die App jeden Tag, die App (Plex Premium ) ist TOP, aber nach den Update habe ich Abstürze. Sobald ich die App schließen will, hängt die App auf mein Handy IPhone 17 promax. Ich muss mein Handy schließen, wieder öffnen und dann erst kann ich die App schließen.

02.12.25: mal wieder ausprobiert, weil es immer noch installiert ist. Und wieder mal enttäuscht, viel zu langsam, er mag nur widerwärtig die Videos von meiner Synology NAS laden und dann ruckeln sie noch und das alles bei Fest Verkabelung mit CAT7. 
Der VLC player sieht zwar nicht so schick aus, läuft dafür immer, kann alle Dateien abspielen und ist dabei auch noch schnell.


24.2.2025: und schon wieder ein Update und nichts funktioniert, nachdem man mühselig es irgendwann mal hinbekomme nach dem letzten Update, versagt die App schon wieder die Funktion. Man solle erst den Server updaten! Klasse Vorschlag, wenn es aber für andere Geräte, zum Beispiel Apple TV oder, Fire TV noch kein Update gibt. Jetzt kann ich mich entscheiden, auf welche Geräte ich verzichten will. 

Ich kenne Plex jetzt sicher schon seit über zehn Jahren, probiere es immer mal wieder und lass es dann jahrelang links liegen. Nach jedem neuen Ernährung Versuch, werde ich nicht enttäuscht und das Programm ist genauso schlecht wie immer. Dabei muss man sagen, die Oberfläche gefällt mir sehr gut, deswegen werde ich das Programm schon gerne verwenden, aber irgendwie wollen die Entwickler keine User haben. Und jetzt stelle ich mir vor, ich sollte dafür noch Geld Bezahlen.…


Leider mal wieder ein Update (und leider auch die davor) nur noch Abbrüche , danach wird kein Server mehr gefunden. Muss Mann alles erst mal wieder neu starten. Nervt nur noch...  
War mal vor 3 Jahren klasse. 
Verwende es entweder auf eine Mac Pro mit i7 oder alternativ auf dem Synology Laufwerk - ist aber egal, richtig laufen tut es nirgends. Auf den (neuen) Synology Laufwerk Funktioniert die Server Version eigentlich am aller aller schlechtesten. Habe ein GB WLAN und LAN mit zyxel switch und Prio. Daran liegt es garantiert nicht

Nutze mittlerweile  Alternative, auch wenn die Optisch nicht so toll sind - die Laufen wenigstens.

Update 03,2018: jetzt scheint es mal wieder zu laufen, wie lange es schon möglich ist, kann ich nicht sagen, da ich die App, Server etc. Schon länger nicht mehr nutze. Habe es nur mal wieder aus lange Weile probiert. Geht jetzt wieder, doch es dauert  och immer 1-2 Minuten bis der Film startet, wenn ich den Server auf der NAS auswähle, warum, keine Ahnung. Mit anderm Programmen läuft es sofort. Scheint so, als konvertieret das Programm, obwohl direkt Wiedergabe eingestellt wurde und die Format Apple konform sind.

Werden Die Updates denn gar nicht mehr vor der Veröffentlichung getestet? Seit einem halben (!) Jahr kriegt Plex es nicht mehr hin.

Das unsägliche, unfertige Update was einfach trotz aller Fehler ausgerollt wurde und alle gemeldeten Bugs einfach ignoriert, bekommt zwar laufend Updates, aber weiterhin ist die Hälfte an bisherigen Funktionalität noch nicht wieder hergestellt, viele Funktionalitäten sollte es zwar geben, aber funktionieren wegen Bugs nicht und dann gibt es auch noch unterschiedliche Versionen für die Plattformen. 

Nach über 10 Jahren Plex Pass Ultimate Benutzung wird es wohl Zeit hier Abschied zu nehmen, wenn Plex scheinbar nur noch ein Test ist, wie sehr man bisherige User verärgern kann und zu testen wieviel Geld neue User für alte Funktionen bereit sind in einem Abo zu bezahlen…

Tip für alle ebenfalls geplagten Plexianer: guckt euch mal Infuse an. Verbindet darin Plex und stellt den Bibliotheksmodus an. Dann habt ihr fast alle Plex Funktionalitäten bis auf verbundene Streaming Services wieder ohne Bugs oder online Zwang und noch dazu mit erweitertem Codec-Support!!

can we please get some haptics when pressing on things throughout the app? and a way to customize what is displayed on the Home tab? a Liquid Glass redesign update? love the colorful movie/series preview pages tho, those look amazing! I personally don't ever use Live TV and On Demand tabs—can we get an option to remove those? Light Mode shouldn't be paywalled—the arbitrary Dark Mode isn't really accessible for everyone. I'm not sure why the app isn't translated to that many languages, while the web interface is. “side pulls” for marking episodes as watched would be cool. lastly, a way to pull/display everything from every “Library” in one place is really needed.

Ich nutze Plex in der Premium lifetime version seit Jahren...
Insbesondere ist für mich das Thema Download relevant... Katastrophe seit dem Update... Statt auch die  filme, die ich auf dem Gerät habe in der Mediathek und damit organisiert zu sehen, gibt es nur eine Downloads-Seite - mit allen Filmen und serienfolgen... Jede einzeln... Es gibt nicht mehr die Möglichkeit, weitere Serienepisoden automatisch zu laden... Auch das entfernen nach gesehen gibt es nicht mehr - oder ein zurückschreiben des Status auf den server... Jede einzelnen gesehene folge muß man vom Mobilgerät löschen - und zuhause dann auf dem server als gesehen markieren...
Wer auch immer sich das ausgedacht hat - extrem user-unfreundlich... Hätte ich nicht lifetime gekauft - ich würde mich anderweitig umsehen...

### *---- "Verbindungsprobleme"
Ich benutze Plex seit März 2020 und seit July 2022 habe ich immer mehr Probleme mit der Verbindung. Anfangs habe ich das auf die Größe der Dateien geschoben, da meistens nur von Unterwegs die Probleme gehabt. Nun kann ich nicht mal 480p im heimischen Netzwerk über LAN Kabel auf meiner Apple TV abspielen. Komischerweise über plex web Zugriff und Infuse geht alles prima schnell und flüssig, auch von Unterwegs. Vielleicht solltet ihr lieber auf die Server und Streaming Funktionen euch besser konzentrieren als auf den ganzen Müll den Ihr den Abonnenten anbietet. Ich habe 500Mpbs Glasfaseranschluss mit Portweiterleitung zu Hause. Es muss gehen. Und es geht, nur nicht mit euren Endgeräten Apps (alle aktualisiert)
