Features include a PC Set Calculator, a Subset/Superset Calculator, and a Matrix Calculator. –This app is perfect for the music theory student analyzing post-tonal music. –This app is also designed for the classroom and pedagogical uses. * With an Apple Dock Connector the screen can be projected in the classroom. * Analytical assignments can be designed to incorporate the features of the app that highlight relationships within sets and rows. The PC Set Calculator analyzes sets ranging from three to twelve pitches and provides: * Forte name * Normal form * Prime form * IC Vector * Z-Mate * Tn Invariance * TnI Invariance The calculator also will provide the inversion and complement sets with all the above information and all sets can be analyzed for subset and superset relationships (a very handy tool when analyzing Webern!). **WHAT’S NEW!!!** The Matrix Calculator will generate a matrix with any number of pitches up to twelve. The rows are numbered using the Straus/Roig-Francoli system (Introduction to Post-Tonal Theory/ Understanding Post-Tonal Music), where the P and I row labels correspond to the starting pitch class. Any number of pitch classes within the matrix can be highlighted and the selected set then sent back into the PC Set Calculator. This feature is extremely helpful when comparing trichords, tetrachords, and hexachords! ## Post Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/97/ed/2c/97ed2c32-2a9d-4e25-18f8-021edb147604/mzl.iysuvjrt.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple118/v4/3a/22/43/3a224365-6e9d-9d2b-9236-d19481684192/mzl.fzdcstmf.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/ae/8f/e8/ae8fe8ec-793d-3ac7-b458-ddd04cbeca6a/mzl.xigsjrxb.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/fb/8f/f7/fb8ff74d-279f-c365-9c4f-ee50f0677616/mzl.ekrktquf.png/640x960.png) ## Post Rating Breakdown in Соединенные Штаты - 5 stars: 3 (50%) - 4 stars: 2 (33%) - 3 stars: 1 (17%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 0 (0%) ## Post Reviews in Соединенные Штаты ### ****- "Used to love it, but..." Apple decided i am no longer allowed to use it! Any chance of an iOs 11 compatible update? This was a great utility, did everything and did it in an easy to use way. -- Tried it 567564257, 2017-10-18 ### ***-- "Forte numbers only for subset/superset lists?" I purchased this app for its subset/superset feature and was a bit disappointed to find that the subsets/supersets tab for a given set lists Forte numbers only (and not the "prime form" set class labels). Maybe now I'll finally learn them… -- watkinsvillian, 2016-10-20 ### ***** "Fantastic!" This is one of the most useful and comprehensive apps I have ever come across. The interface is beautifully smooth and the analysis is extremely well laid out and complete, and above all it works fast and even does matrices of <12. I highly recommend this to anyone who frequently uses post-tonal theory, and the only future feature I could possibly ask for would be a sound feature where you can also hear your row played. Great work on one of the most useful apps I have ever found. -- Just... No, 2014-03-07 ### ***-- "A good start" Pros: Easy to use, superset/subset relation is nice, forthcoming matrix is promising Cons: Should give prime forms in addition to forte names Would be nice to have access to all of the info in the list of set classes Some minor improvements will make this very good -- ColdPoncho, 2013-04-14 [View all Post reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to Post -
