The site is very good and convenient to use. But their subscription payment model doesn’t make any sense. You just loose your money if you don’t schedule a lesson in time

I bought a subscription to learn English, passed the exam and no longer needed the teacher’s help and wanted to cancel the subscription, but I found the unsubscribe button late because it was deliberately hidden so far that it was impossible to find it. I was charged money for 8 lessons that I didn’t need, I asked for a refund, but I didn’t receive it after a month and the lessons expired, I lost it. But the lessons with the teacher were good, which made the experience with this app a little more enjoyable

The first thing you need to understand is that your money will be withdrawn from you automatically every month, even if you do not plan to study with a specific teacher. My story of interaction with the application is as follows: after paying for a course with a teacher who turned out to be not quite competent, I decided not to continue studying with him further. I had 2 more paid lessons on my balance, I was supposed to study with this teacher, but I noticed that money was withdrawn from my bank card, which was linked to this application, in advance for the next month, which I did not plan to continue. I wrote to the support service that the money was debited from my account and asked to return it, to which the support service employee offered to try another teacher and even offered one free trial lesson with him to motivate me not to return the money back to my account. I thought about it and agreed, since I was studying Spanish using this application. I found another teacher, a lesson with whom was scheduled 5 days after talking to the support service representative. However, about 10 hours before the start of my lesson, I received an automatic message in the application that my lesson was cancelled and that the teacher was unavailable. I contacted the support service again and asked what to do next, to which I received the answer that I should choose another time with the same teacher. I again tried to figure it out on my own and tried to search for how to find the option to choose another time with this teacher, but I was very surprised that the teacher was inactive and no longer existed. I wrote to the support service again that the teacher was inactive, to which the support service offered to choose another teacher and they would transfer my trial lesson to him. I found a new teacher, but for the lesson with this teacher it was necessary to make a new payment (although the support service promised me a trial lesson for free, I wrote about this above). At the moment, the support service does not respond to messages and ignores them. They also refuse to withdraw money from the application. I just want to warn everyone against possible similar situations with this application, since they do not have a properly organized work with clients, in addition, the application charges you an additional commission amount, which you do not see initially when booking a lesson with a particular teacher.

Nice service but has some major disadvantages: You can reschedule or cancel lesson free of charge in 12 hours but a Tutor can do the same ANY time they wants without any penalties. If a Tutor decided to leave the Preply - your scheduled lessons won’t be automatically cancelled!

I want to say thanks for everyone who’s working on this product. It’s completely incredible idea to organize such service like this. Here’s a perfect combination of leaning materials and communication tools with your tutor. What’s missing for me: More friendly and tabled UI for navigating in the vocabulary. Infinity clicking on the “show more” button gets me angry.

Мне очень нравится мой преподаватель Анна. Она профессионал в своём деле . У неё отличная коммуникация . Она , отзывчивый и эмпатийный человек . Хочется познавать и дальше английский язык именно с этим преподавателем .

Додаток дуже крутий і корисний! Хотілося б мати можливість шукати репетиторів, додатково вказуючи мови якими може володіти. Наприклад я шукаю репетитора, для якого рідна мова є англійською, проте він ще додатково знає українську.

Preplay часто просто не відкриває сторінок і ти не можеш вчитися, але доступ до вибору вчителів є завжди? Чому так? Виглядає ніби , щоб більше коштів викачати з людини😳

Be very careful, tutors cancel lessons but you still get billed, I was under the impression I pay for the hour of lesson…. Not that I pay regardless When I contacted support and proved all the canceled lessons and my shock that I was still being charged for the lessons I didn’t receive, they simply said check terms and conditions. This means they legally added a clause to scam customers and to stop them getting refunds for lessons when the tutor cancelled. I’m shocked that they would do this BEWARE scam app
