## Ruismaker Noir Description
A different kind of drumsynth. Ruismaker Noir presents a hybrid approach between synthesized drums and rhythmic bass sounds - coming together in the fully integrated step sequencer. Throw in a nasty, dirty personality and you get something really new for the iOS platform.

Although Noir has a monophonic synthesis engine, the clever interplay with the sequencer and plethora of pitch/velocity modulation options can make it sound like many different sounds are playing, seamlessly blending into each other.

- AUv3 (Audio Unit) plugin, with integrated sequencer
- Basic standalone mode for tinkering or preset creation*
- Universal; runs on any iDevice with iOS10 or higher
- All parameters accessible via MIDI CC and AU Params
- AU MIDI output from sequencer (requires iOS11+)
- Fullscreen plugin GUI in all compatible hosts
- Modest CPU and resource loads
- Handcrafted in the Netherlands

Interesting sounds but so damn quiet. Had to have the fader  in AUM above unity, with a compressor and gain all the way up in the app and was still problematic.

Have requested a refund. Not for me….

I’m a producer and engineer, not a casual user or producer so it’s not like i dont know what I’m doing. Pretty disappointing

As a metal guitarist completely new to app synthesis, I found this very easy to use. Just home use so far, but it also sounds amazing cranked up on the car stereo so I’ve got great expectations for bigger sound systems too. Works really well with Troublemaker and Mononoke in GarageBand on iPhone.

The absolute ease at which it can create something nasty and bleepy is a godsend I wish this were analogue hardware, it’s a utter beast. More patterns would be welcome and perhaps a more detailed visual aid for notes as it’s a little tricky to dial them in precisely on the sequencer. Aside from that it’s my go to app for basslines.

You can’t go wrong with a Bram Bos app - rock solid, great sounding, CPU friendly, and a great price. Plus they’re well supported.

This one doesn’t disappoint. It’s capable of producing everything from deep bass to hi-hats, and you can create incredibly complex rhythms by using multiple AU instances.

In a nutshell, this is a very good drum/bass synth attached to an amazingly innovative sequencer, and has the potential to change the way you make beats.

Techno, tech, house, experimental, edm, if you’re looking to enhance your arsenal, Ruismaker Noir sets a new standard for iOS AUv3 drum/PERC/bass synths. Sound quality is stunning, the range of sounds is incredible, and technically, everything is in place, midi in, midi out, full screen AUv3 with sequencer built in, random sound and sequencer generation, and full parameter automation. It could really be all you need.

The 4 star review is complete nonsense, the modulators on velocity and pitch are a very new way of working, or you can just ignore them too and use this in a traditional sense, when just using this traditionally it is a 5 star best on IOS drum synthesiser, it is near impossible to tweak in to unusability, in fact this is the best plugin available on IOS AUv3 right now, it is a great synth for creating modern EDM synths for sampling and the best drum synth available, this would easily compete on the desktop, and any questioning of the measly price of this is class a stupidity.

Great design, solid functionality, inventive processes and reasonable price. Ruismaker Noir is, as claimed, a different approach to electro rhythms. It’s intuitive, versatile, fun to play with and well worth adding to any IOS music maker’s tool chest. There’s even the little joke of having the transport controls as very dark grey on black...so new users spend a minute trying to find them!
