When using SketchUp on your iPad and iPhone without a paid subscription, you are still able to explore and present your 3D projects for FREE; here’s how:
-Navigate your projects using intuitive multi-touch gestures.
-View your projects from any of the standard views or custom scenes.
-Switch between perspective and orthographic camera views.
-Turn Tags on or off to control the visibility of parts of your model.
-Adjust the look and feel of your model by controlling Edge and Face styles, Shadows, Hidden Geometry, Section Planes, and Section Cuts.
-Take measurements and get information about edge lengths, the area of faces, the volume of solids, and component and group definitions.
-Merge your models with the world around you by viewing them in augmented reality.
REQUIREMENTS

The AR model viewing feature uses ARKit and is compatible with iPhone 6s and newer, iPad Pro, or any 2017 iPad or newer.
SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
SketchUp lets you create and edit 3D models on iPad via an in-app subscription. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account on confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before your subscription expiration date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to your subscription expiration date. You can manage your subscriptions at any time, and/or turn off auto-renew, by visiting your Account Settings after your initial purchase is complete.
If you are a SketchUp Free user, please note that you will only be able to access the free viewing features on your iPad or iPhone.

Teveel bugs voor de prijs

Inzoomen werkt vreemd en choppy. Je kan alleen 2 of meer objecten groeperen. Locken kan alleen op groepen (niet op tags). Je kunt amper instellingen wijzigen voor Pencil/gestures veranderen. Gekke app met veel onhebbelijkheden … Wel beter dan shapr, dat is helemaal wappie 😅

Not good for 3D printing

The app works nice but when exporting to STL all groups and components which are mirrored have reversed faces in the STL file, so they cannot be sliced for 3D printing especially when printing with a SLA printer.

Gebruikt om garage te ontwerpen.

Perfect om via telefoon of tablet de tekeningen er bij te pakken als je in het werkveld staat en even te checken of alles overeen komt.

Very conveniant program

I only don’t know all the English words, what they mean. A Dutch version would be nice.

App werkt niet

Ik was een goeie dag bezig met het programma om me nieuwe huisje er in te teken maar na even te zijn gaan eten kon ik niet meer in de app heb meerdere keren verwijdert en op gestart maar dat hielp niet. Zou graag hier mee geholpen willen worden.

Abonnement

Dacht een gratis 3D teken programma te downloaden, echter na het aanmaken van een account er achter gekomen dat je hier voor moet betalen. Jammer dat ze het niet van te voren vermelden.

Great software but very buggy

Basically SketchUp is a great tool without any rival. I use Shapr3D for real 3D object modeling but that misses the big libraries of objects and textures which make SketchUp such a great tool for rapid development of bigger projects. But the iPad version is real buggy and extremely slow. It freezes at each change of viewpoint, it freezes when it autosaves and crashes frequently. I use fairly big models (architecture, 50-60MB)) but then again my iPad 12.9 M2 should be able to handle it easily looking at how easily it handles other 3D software, games etc. That is the reason I use shapr3D is that it is lightning fast on the iPad even with the biggest models and never crashes. Unfortunately it misses a lot of features SketchUp for iPad has. So now I am constantly switching between both apps and have to do a lot of work twice, annoying. So I really hope the SketchUp programmers clean up the code or use the right code and finally use the potential of the M1/M2 apple chips as the performance could be better than the average PC. At the moment SketchUp feels like a sluggish port from another platform.
