### ***-- "Why isn’t there an option to mark entire slack messages threads discussions as ‘mark as read’."
Slack’s “Catch up” tab is a spectacular demonstration of how to turn a basic messaging feature into unpaid administrative labour. Presenting users with 1,653 messages and calling it “catching up” is less a convenience and more an accidental assignment generator. 

Apparently, opening the tab is not sufficient evidence that the user has seen the messages, and a simple “Mark all as read” option remains far too advanced for the product team to implement. 

Slack also permanently records anyone whose profile was opened once—perhaps because the user wanted to know who they were—even when no message was ever sent, with no way to remove them from the history. This is not sophisticated workflow design; it is needless friction disguised as functionality. 

For a company whose entire business is communication, Slack has produced an experience that communicates one thing exceptionally well: its developers were given all the tools required to solve the problem, except apparently the ability to recognise it.

Great app overall, but oh my god. The amount of times I have had to close and clear the app after sending a message and a giant block of colour where the keyboard once was stays up, covering the ability to do anything, one more time… I might go crazy. Please fix this, app coders!!!

I have received your notifications that I need to update my O.S. Which means that my iPhone 8.0 is obsolete. I do not otherwise feel I need a newer model. I do use a newer iPad  but I do not like to carry it with me all the time so I will lose my connectivity when I am not home. 
I do like Slack but I wish you did not determine when I need to upgrade my devices. I am a senior on a pension and still have a landline so spending a whack of money on a new phone so I can get slack messages is not reasonable.
