What Is Sleepy Stories?

Sleepy Stories is a treasure trove of values-based, beloved bedtime stories and songs to make bedtimes fun! Some stories are specifically designed to bring sleep quickly, while others provide cozy, bedtime listening for magical nights. Benefits of nighttime listening include:

The Stories

Written by award-winning authors, therapists, and others, our stories are the heart of the app. Some stories, like "The Land of the Sleeps" and "Annabella's Dream Pillow," are designed to help kids fall asleep quickly. The lilting ocean waves, enchanting music, and soft voice help children gradually drift off to sleep, and the extra music played at the end of each story transition kids into deep sleep when the story is over.

I deleted the app a little while ago and decided to get it back. I listened to The Land of Sleeps one night and fell asleep in about 5 maybe 9 minutes who knows. But this has really helped me go to sleep faster and as a kid writing this review it really helps me go to bed so i can be nice and refreshed for my day. There is some improvements i would recommend like letting people have access to more books and sound/songs to listen to. I would recommend it for those who struggle with going to sleep but don’t recommend it for people who get annoyed from hearing the same thing over and over again.

My two kids love this app. We originally downloaded the free version and then upgraded because my kids wanted to listen to the stories and music every night. They still do. I like that the stories, especially the original stories which is what my kids love, aren't loud, crazy, fast music, etc...like a lot of the kids shows and YouTube channels they watch. They're interesting without being boring, if that makes sense. I've even fallen asleep to a few of the stories.

The app hasn’t been working. None of the stories will play and just freezes. Emailed multiple times and no response. Currently paying for a subscription that can’t be used. Also, you have to constantly login to the app because it doesn’t keep you signed in.

I’ve been listening to Sleepy Stories with my youngest for about a year now. She prefers these fairytales and original stories to others we’ve tried. And what a wonderful thing that all the stories and meditations and sounds were available for free to us…until tonight. I see now that everything is locked except 3 stories! This is very disappointing for us both. It is difficult to find apps these days that don’t require in-app purchases. Sleepy Stories used to be one-of-a-kind and our go-to for bedtime. Sadly, not any more.

We cannot enjoy this app because every time the narrator says something with an “s” it’s high pitched  hissy sound hurts our ears… causing us to lose all interest in listening to these stories. Can the app makers please edit (dull down) the s sounds to be more natural or at least to be less painful for those of us who are affected by this hissy noise?

My seven year old has developed intense bedtime anxiety. This has helped her so much! It’s a wonderful free service which is much appreciated. My only request is for more original stories- my daughter will only listen to them now! She loves the narrators voice and the music/waves at the end. I’d be happy to pay if that meant more original stories could be added. Thank you for helping my daughter fall asleep!
