Useful app for the songwriter on the go. Works well with an additional dictionary of rhymes that I also bought through the App Store. There is one thing that would be nice to have. Possibility to copy songs as text files to move them between devices that I use.

4-1-16 update I am using this app again as I can't find any other app that has the same workflow for songwriting. Would still appreciate a software update from Dev though, hopefully this is coming soon. For any budding singer / songwriter, I would say give it a try and decide for yourself. 11-12-15 update Sorry to say, I've stopped using this app. I was losing too many songs due to the app crashing. Also the Sync to cloud does not seem to work very well. There have been no updates for quite some time now and the bugs have not been ironed out. It is a real shame as I have about 25 part finished songs in Songwriter and now I'm gradually moving them to Evernote. This app could be so good, if it was developed a bit more to sort out the bugs. Also, iCloud support would be good for syncing from device to desktop version of Songwriter. If I see an update come through in the future, I will definitely give it another go, but for now, bye bye. 28-2-2015 update I'm loving this app!!! My songwriting is really coming on. I've got an album on the go and this app is keeping me organised. The Sync works well. 19-1-15 update Support are on the case with the sound issue I am experiencing, so that's good... I find that I am using this app most of the day, dipping in and out when I have a minute or two, I write and record worship songs. The songs are gradually coming together and this is the only app I've found that can help me to organise my guitar parts and lyrics, to be able to streamline the songwriting process easily whilst staying creative. I can capture parts quickly and re-arrange them into verses and chorus parts. Yes there are issues with the sync being manual, but I'm getting used to it's little characteristics! I've increased the star rating from 3 to 5 because even with a few issues, this app is amazing and is what I've been looking for. More importantly, it's getting the job done! ======================== At last I thought I had found an app that can help my song writing workflow. The app does a good job of this, BUT, I downloaded the desktop version and tried to sync the two together and what a mess. It doesn't auto sync and even the manual syncing does not seem to work properly on my system. If I delete a song in the app on my phone, it still leaves a copy on my desktop. Also, audio recorded on the iPhone app does not play on my desktop version of the programme. I logged these issues with support a week ago. Still no resolution. I'm even paying for the sy

Ive had to revise my opinion having used both iphone and ipad apps for a few months now. It should be really good but is just ok. I think the developer has not enough time to do this good idea justice. I still cant upload using cellular after reporting it months ago. The app has so many bugs or design faults some of which i have reported but still had no response after 4 weeks so ive given up. Sometimes you get a response sometimes you dont. I am disapointed overall as it seemed like this was going to be a professional app but is'nt really

I was enjoying this app and it seems very good when connected to wifi but as soon as I leave the house it crashes and sometimes I can lose an entire verse that I have been tweaking and writing on and off and it began to get frustrating so I gave up

Great app, enables me to write on different devices and sync in the cloud. Useful tools within. Great support.

This is an absolutely genius app in terms of its purpose, it's got everything under one roof - a place to write songs and record ideas quickly, transpose sections by dragging and dropping (goodbye cut & paste), a place to record and store audio ideas in your song folders so your ideas can live next to your lyrics (instead of in voice memos which is what I was using before), and a word bank, phrases, a thesaurus that can be filtered by mood, perfect when you need quick inspiration to get you over writer's block. Also I've linked my Dropbox account which means I can back up and export to my co-writers. The major downside it is glitchy and keeps crashing, twice I've lost lyrics because of this. But I'm persevering and hope it continues to get the backing to continue developing and improving the app because it is so good, and so far the pros are outweighing the cons. Seriously considering the desktop version too and then I can sync over all my devices.

One of the very few apps I use almost every day. Most apps are nine day wonders, but I've found this one does everything I need, whether I'm mulling over ideas or hitting a recording deadline. Almost completely replaced the scraps of paper I used pre-iPhone!

Use it every day

I mainly use SP on an iPad. I was pleased to see the upgrade that allows synching with my iPhone. However this needs some bugs fixing and also further enhancements. Synching over 3G doesn't work despite having the option to. Synching also needs to be automatic rather than having to remember to do it before you need it! Maybe as a regular push whilst using it- from device being used to cloud and to targets as notifications so you are always working on the latest version on any device. Single click saving of intermediate drafts would also be nice - perhaps to Dropbox using a versioning suffix on the file. Chords - I don't like the interface that requires it to be copied to the clipboard. Can we have a option on the finger (cursor) bar to access chords directly as well and simply dial it in to the location under the cursor. And can we add custom chords - simply allow anything between [ ] to be recognised as a chord. But despite these minor niggles it is still the best tool available.
