I’ve been using StepBet for a few years now, and it’s truly improved my fitness routine! The concept is simple but so effective. I love how the app syncs with my fitness tracker and adjusts the goals based on my current activity level, so it’s always challenging but achievable.

I’ve been using StepBet for several years now. I signed up to be a member and participate in 3 challenges at a time. It is a good way to stay motivated, and while it doesn’t pay great dividends, I usually come away with about $20 per month, which is a little little bonus to put towards stuff I want to buy. I highly recommend this app for someone who wants some accountability in getting steps. I’ve only had a few issues during the years I have been using the app, and the people who work the help desk are very knowledgeable and helpful. No negative experiences at all. It is also a good sense of community in the games. I am more active in the conversation some times more than others. All in all, great app.

I was out of the country, the country I was in did not support StepBet app and I was in the middle of a challenge
I was able to contact support through an email and they were able to help sync my steps for me (with proof submitted from my tracking device, date, time, screenshot)

Even though you’re allowed to opt out during warm up week they give you no way to do so within the app.

I emailed support and have not heard back. It especially leaves a bad taste in my mouth as somebody who works in software. Def intentional that they make it impossible to opt out even though they promote that you can get a refund for a challenge within a certain amount of time.

Way better has been charging my credit card since June 2023. Via email, I can I cancelled within the trial period. The refund was processed. I assumed everything was good, only to discover in December that my credit card has getting charged monthly. They refused to refund me because “ it is not within the seven days”

It’s a great idea, and it kept me accountable for the games I completed. However, and it’s a big however, they have a lot a glitches and their customer service is horrific. There are many issues with device and app connectivity, resulting in missing step goals and, ultimately, losing your money.

I have never seen another app that has kept me more motivated than stepbet. Whenever I told myself “You’re too tired today. It’ll be fine if you took a day off from your goals” I would always be reminded of this app and put my walking shoes on. 

No matter what, I always try to make sure that I’ve reached my step goals, so that my money hasn’t gone to waste. This app really works wonders for me, and because of it, I’ve gotten out of my walking slump.

I would like to premise this review by stating that I am really enjoying the app so far. It has gotten me up and walking in days when I’ve felt extra lazy, and not wanting to move from the couch. 

That being said, I have recently discovered one big flaw with their design that has been pretty disappointing, and that is this inability to change your step source mid game. I’ve been participating in a 6 week game, and was only on week 2 when I purchased a new Fitbit. Knowing I would be going on a camping trip soon, and won’t want to keep my phone on me to count steps, now seemed like the perfect time to make this purchase I’ve been wanting to make. Unfortunately, even after reaching out to support, I was told that there is absolutely NO way that I can start counting my steps from my Fitbit instead of my phone. I understand not wanting to provide people with the ability to change it at will, but it blows my mind that even a simple one time change isn’t possible.

Now, I need to worry about keeping my phone on me at all times while I’m trying to enjoy the gee te at outdoors, and somehow keeping it charged in the middle of the woods, or else I’ll lose my $40 investment in this game. Very very disappointing.
