StoryGraph: Reading Tracker

Unlike the web version, which opens just fine every time, the app won't work 4 times out of 5, it just gets stuck on a loading screen.

The app constantly crashes, I have to reload it multiple times for it to work, just to track down a few pages read. I was not able to access the application since the second of January, nor am I able to download my StoryGraph library from it’s site

Love the idea! Love the fact that the app is completely free and does not try to sell you some random premium options, unlimited notes or something of that sort. A completely free functionality was my only reason to choose that app over GoodReads. However, there’s definitely a lot of room to improve! For example, I can’t see who follows me. I can’t see who I follow and can’t see their activity unless I manually search for them again. Followers/followings should be more intuitive. If we step up the game, maybe in the future there can be a functionality to create chats/groupchats between friends - sort of like a bookclub thing. In addition to that, mobile UX is quite interesting & not very intuitive. I was trying to add more notes to the book I was reading, and for that you have to mark how many pages you’ve read and only then you can add a note. Also, you can’t intuitively access all of your notes for this specific book. You sort of have to go and click random buttons to see the option for journal entries for that book. A lot of unnecessary clicking unfortunately :( Also, it would be cool if we could scan the book barcode and it would automatically bring it up. Just something I saw in other apps while doing my research! Hope this feedback helps :) keep it up!

Hatte bis jetzt schon viel Apps ausprobiert und hatte mich ursprünglich mit Goodreads zufrieden gegeben. Weil ich aber damit immer unzufriedener wurde, habe ich mich erneut auf die Suche nach einer Tracking App gemacht und bin ABSOLUT zufrieden mit StoryGraph. Endlich eine App bei der die spannenden Features nicht zusätzlich kosten, sondern auch zugänglich sind. Zuvor hatte ich mein Leseverhalten noch nie so beobachtet. Ich tracke nur noch mit StoryGraph ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I use this app since 2 years already to track the books I’ve read, give reviews, save books to my to-read pile and so much more! What I really love about this app is the statistics it shows you about the books you’ve read until now which I was missing on Goodreads! Another great point is that I can just upload books myself if I don’t already find them in the app. Goodreads deleted that function unfortunately and the librarians sometimes ignore your requests to upload books so this one is a big plus for StoryGraph and one of the reasons I chose this over Goodreads! Only thing that is missing is the feature that when I click on a book I would like to see a “similar books” tab where I can browse through books that are similar to the one I clicked on

Mir fehlen eigentlich nur 2 Sachen. Ein Export der monatlichen Bücher und eine Möglichkeit bei den Notizen ein Bild/Foto einzufügen um zB Seiten einzufügen um bestimmte Stellen im Buch in Erinnerung zu rufen.

I started using Storygraph in 2022 and tested it for 2 years now. It is honestly the best. The tracker itself is already wonderful and scratches my data-driven brain in all the right places. On top of insightful graphs, personalized reading recommendations and a lively community they are also adding features continuously to the app. I also (and tbh that’s what prompted me to write this review) just had my first contact with their support team (Hi Abbie!🫶🏻) and they were so helpful, took a lot of time to fix my issue with my streak. All the stars.
