You have to reopen the app in order to get control of the drone. I have contacted support they did say they’ve had multiple responses with that type of issue. Their answer was sorry for the inconvenience and to try an android phone. Sounds as if they’re not even attempting to try to correct the issue. Don’t waste your time. I crashed mine into a tree because I could not tell the drone to veer away from it. The WiFi range is pathetic and will also fail, granted less consistently than the app crashes. The point remains, losing connection with the drone for any reason while flying is unacceptable. I would not recommend the DJI Tello. The C-Fly faith mini is a bit more expensive but a much better drone with an actual controller.
