App is quite buggy and the iPad app icon no longer works, even after deleting the app and re-download. The app itself can become quite repetitive and I wish there were more features. Would be great if you could join events without it plastered all over your page, that’s a safety issue that prevents me joining IRL events.

It’s a great idea and attracts friendly fellow arty types BUT with an iPhone 11 or an iPad it’s incredibly difficult to join a webinar that I’ve booked onto!  

No clear link to webinar on confirmation email nor reminders! The app makes it really easy to connect with folk on the same webinar BUT not to enter the webinar itself! Sometimes I can get in, majority of time I can’t! What a massive opportunity lost! So frustrating! For this basic malfunction it’s a low score. Shame because the idea is good.

Now I’m unable to update the app on my old iPad so can’t access my account! Is there a way of continuing with the old Dots app?

The dots is a great platform to connect with others in the least polluted route as LinkedIn is overly congested, the dots offers another way to connect to those that may never see your message.

However It works best on the computer as you can access more functions than iPhone, but using it on my iPad (which is my companion whilst working) is impossible due to the lack of compatibility. Seems like an obvious feature for the dots to work on.

The app doesn't recognise Audio Visual (AV) as a job description.
It will allow you to add companies you've worked for not in it's database but not allow you to add job titles/roles not in its database.
It's a very easy fix overlook unfortunately.

A good alternative to LinkedIn for creatives. But as a graduate the ability to show colleagues for projects isn’t really interesting.

More so job searches are for a grad, and here The Dots is both interesting and lacking compared to LinkedIn. With more interesting creative roles and companies but lacking the easy application system now in-built to LinkedIn (Easy Apply). 

Pressing on ‘new job’ notifications just takes you to the Home Screen, with no specific app page for jobs, just a small list on the home page. If your main use of The Dots is to find a new/first job then unfortunately it isn’t the most catered for. It’s great for exposure and people working in publishing/editorial/fashion but as a UX/Experience/Service designer it seems redundant to LinkedIn.

They sign you up automatically to a ton of rubbish you don’t want. Then have to untick 20boxes, each time scrolling to top of page. And no way to delete account it seems.
