I have been a Tidal customer for many years, but I just canceled my subscription.  I also have Apple Lossless streaming and I find it superior to Tidal in most areas.  I noticed over the last few days that although an album says it’s being streamed in lossless and”hi-resolution”, it isn’t.  My Chord Mojo and my Dragonfly Cobalt headphone DAC/amps have a colour indicator that identifies what the bitrate and sampling frequency is, so Tidal can’t fool me.  Something must have happened in the last update?  My Apple Lossless platform works fine as it streams many of the same albums in hi-rez.  I’ve been in touch with their support team, but I can’t be bothered to upload a video showing the problem as they’ve requested.

I paid for Tidal through the Apple Store, but Tidal would not allow me to access the premium account. Tidal’s sound is top-tier, but they don’t have all musical artists.

I would use Tidal if the payment harmonization with Apple was not glitchy.

The interface design is great. However, this product is always in its BETA stage. They cannot resolve playback issues as those have been existing for several years now. In case you go with this product, be prepared for countless moments of frustration. Good luck!

While the music quality is far superior to that of Spotify and Apple Music, the app is just not there. To clunky, poor user interface, using it in a vehicle is disastrous, no real good way to find new music or explore… I can’t see how they charge Apple Music/spotify price for something that needs ALOT of work.

2 avantages pour Tidal: 
Le son hi-fi,mais il faut être équipé de matériel qui reçoit le signal pour en profiter vraiment. 
Tidal DJ pour connecter votre compte à une table de mixage (option payante mais génial). 

Cela mise à part, ayant utilisé les 2 plateformes, Tidal ne fait pas le poids devant Spotify à tous les niveaux. Le plus pénible, c’est la compatibilité Tidal Connect qui est limitée. Aucune continuité entre un compte sur téléphone vers le compte de son ordinateur de bureau ou celui de l’ordinateur portable. Les paramètres de l’application sont casi-inexistante. 
Déçu dans l’ensemble.

I’ve been a long-time Spotify subscriber—not because I’m loyal or love the service, but simply because, for years, no one else had a good enough app or catalogue to compete. Fast forward to 2024, and I’m finally fed up with Spotify’s bugs. I’ve found that Tidal’s price, app design, music quality, and artist-first ethos make it worth making the switch.

But there are two big problems:

	1.	No Alexa support in Canada (apparently only available in the US).
	2.	The tool to transfer my music from Spotify—a huge reason for making the switch—is paid! I’m on a free trial with Tidal, but I’m stuck with an empty app unless I pay $4 to transfer my library. I’d happily pay $12/month for Tidal, but paying extra just to move my music feels like a roadblock for new users like me.

Tidal has exceptional sound quality and a great library but the app is still lacking quite a bit if compared to Apple Music or Spotify. Especially when using CarPlay. Something that should be mentioned for devs: When selecting an album or playlist within CarPlay, Tidal will just play the whole playlist or album and not allow you to select a certain song within. To do that you’ll need to go to the app on your phone to select an individual track but when launching the app it will hang/stop the song currently playing on CarPlay. This type of bug/issue doesn’t happen with either Apple Music or Spotify so I think it’s worth checking into and making some changes. Otherwise, this is a recommended service for people that enjoy a better sound quality.

Just saw a banner ad pop up to use Waze. If I see one more I am switching back to Apple
Music. That is the last thing I want to see.

Update: Waze ad - ugh. I guess inflation’s hit Tidal hard too? It just doesn’t feel so premium when it needs ads on top of your paid subscription $ to keep the lights on.
