TIDAL Music: HiFi Sound

I have been a Tidal customer for many years, but I just canceled my subscription. I also have Apple Lossless streaming and I find it superior to Tidal in most areas. I noticed over the last few days that although an album says it’s being streamed in lossless and”hi-resolution”, it isn’t. My Chord Mojo and my Dragonfly Cobalt headphone DAC/amps have a colour indicator that identifies what the bitrate and sampling frequency is, so Tidal can’t fool me. Something must have happened in the last update? My Apple Lossless platform works fine as it streams many of the same albums in hi-rez. I’ve been in touch with their support team, but I can’t be bothered to upload a video showing the problem as they’ve requested.

I paid for Tidal through the Apple Store, but Tidal would not allow me to access the premium account. Tidal’s sound is top-tier, but they don’t have all musical artists. I would use Tidal if the payment harmonization with Apple was not glitchy.

Bad software. Every day I have to log out and back in on my Apple TV just for it to load. Cancelling my family’s subscription and moving to Qobuz.

I wish i could dislike songs and artists.

The interface design is great. However, this product is always in its BETA stage. They cannot resolve playback issues as those have been existing for several years now. In case you go with this product, be prepared for countless moments of frustration. Good luck!

The UI meets the standard of usability but it’s not very smooth or intuitive.

the sound is perfect but the interface is kinda weird and the algorithm too but i really love it so just take it or leave it🫶🏻

While the music quality is far superior to that of Spotify and Apple Music, the app is just not there. To clunky, poor user interface, using it in a vehicle is disastrous, no real good way to find new music or explore… I can’t see how they charge Apple Music/spotify price for something that needs ALOT of work.
