Umami - Recipe Manager

This app is genius. I have so many recipes saved as web pages and in instagram and even photos of recipes and this app makes short work of adding them all in to 1 great app. The times I’ve lost recipes because a web link no longer works but that will never be an issue again. I find it really easy to use and love the way I can personalise it with the categories and folders I want. It’s easy to duplicate or move a recipe in to a different folder too. I’m just super impressed. I can also add all the recipes I inherited from my mum and preserve the fragile book they are in as I won’t need to keep handling it. Thank you Umami, I would rate you 10 out of 5 if I could.

I don’t know how we lived before this app. Being able to organise our recipes, add them to a meal plan and then make a grocery list so seamlessly has just made life so much easier. Couldn’t recommend enough.

This app offers you everything you need and nothing you don’t when it comes to managing recipes. Import recipes in a plethora of different ways, including camera OCR, browser extensions, import fr Paprika. Export recipes in open source formats, nothing proprietary. Very fair pricing with great family features included. Can’t fault it!

Great app but I’m getting errors when trying to import from delicious magazine.

I tried the app and would like to provide some feedback, so I selected 'Email developer'. However this tries to open the Apple Mail app which I am not using. As the developer's email address is not shown, I have no means of getting in contact.

Been using for almost two years now and cannot fault Umami, it’s perfection. The app has every feature you could want with the best interface and design that allows you to easily see, manage, and browse your recipes. Adding new recipes from literally any source or medium is a breeze and makes such a difference when picking out pertinent information when referencing a blog plastered in adverts or waffle (of the non food variety). If only other apps could be built and designed so well!

Clean and effective !

If you want to consolidate your collection of recipes but don’t want to be bombarded with new, unwanted ones- this app is for you. You have option to add recipes from the web and you are in control. If you are looking for simple, beautiful, app which does what is says and let’s you easily search for ingredients or tagged recipes. And you don’t want to keep up with complexity of keeping your pantry stock updated - this app is for you. Prompt support, reasonable price. This app is the best! Thank you again for creating it, it makes me happy :)

This really is an excellent app, so easy to use and download recipes from the internet. I love it that you can create recipe books and also share access to the books with family. My husband and I use this app to determine and sort what we are cooking every week and create the weeks shopping list from it. We then simply open the recipe that we’ve chosen each day. No more ‘what are we having for dinner tonight’ conversations. I don’t know what we’d do without this now, it’s made cooking so efficient and enjoyable for us.

However, it’s very expensive in comparison to the competitors. Unfortunately, I have purchased “lifetime” licenses before and it always end up the same - the developer either abandons the app or forces existing lifetime users to get subscription to get access to the latest features. It’s just impossible to justify the £19.99 price tag.
