The VC IT person even spent more than an hour trying to get things working as they should to no avail. VC it’s time to bring back the old app until you can remedy the issues with this one -- LisaD987, 2026-02-28 ### *---- "2FA set up is a joke" When I want to change my 2FA settings so I don’t have to type my password AND get a text code to input, the new app asks me to scan a QR code to set up an Authenticator app. How am I supposed to do that when I’m using my phone? The camera is on the other side of my screen. You can’t scan a QR code on your phone screen. This design has zero insight to UX. I wish the old app was still functional so I could convertibly do my banking until the kinks are worked out of this new one. Update: your “can’t scan link” doesn’t open anything. Buggy. -- Ljamaman, 2026-02-28 ### *---- "App only worked 1 day" I was forced to migrate to the new Vancity app because the old app was retired. The new app worked yesterday but today it gave me an error message when I tried to open it stating “Your device is not compatible with this application” even after deleting and reinstalling the app. The old app never had this issue albeit needing an update and refresh. Now I’m forced to use online banking via web browser. Disappointed! UPDATE: The Developer’s canned response is an insult and provides zero value. How is downloading the new app literally 3 days ago not the latest version which stopped working only after 1 day? Yea, I have the latest iOS and am not running any other financial apps simultaneously which sounds strange as if the new Vancity app is jealous of other banks and will refuse to open lol. Judging by all the negative reviews and low overall app rating with the new Vancity app when compared to the old app is very telling. Do better by your members and fix the app which is just a glorified web browser since it looks exactly the same when you log in to internet banking online. -- BaNANABoy69r, 2026-02-28 ### ****- "Modernized App" So far the app has been easy to use. Lots of visual changes and things moved around so naturally I can understand why most who use it for the first time will reject it and say it’s useless because it’s overwhelming and lots people don’t adapt to major interface changes in software. Just need to familiarize yourself with where things are and it becomes intuitive very quickly. Some things feel needlessly redundant though, like accounts list. Drilling down in dropdown list to just open the account is a bit excessive and not sure if the devs considered this for end user quality of life. Four stars for this design plus the fact putting memos or notes on your account transfers mean nothing. I personally use memos on transfers so I know what that transfer was for but when you add one and it just shows up as the account it was transferred from instead of the actual note you entered. This makes it pointless. Please make notes visible, it’s a valuable tool that you have hidden. The updates make one feel like a step back not an improvement. Interac transfers now ask for the secret answer every time a transfer is initiated. There’s no option to store the security answer in the contact profile anymore. If the recipient has the auto deposit option enabled and the transfer is scheduled for a future date, the system is asking for the security answer. I was excited when the update was announced, but I am very disappointed.
