## Ventusky Description
De applicatie combineert op bijzondere wijze een exacte weersvoorspelling voor elke mogelijke plaats op aarde met een kaart die de ontwikkeling van het weer voor de wijdere omgeving weergeeft. Zo kunt u overzichtelijk zien vanuit welk gebied er neerslag aankomt en vanuit welke richting de wind waait. De applicatie is uniek vanwege de grote hoeveelheid van getoonde gegevens. Voor de hele wereld is er een voorspelling van de temperatuur, neerslag, wind, bewolking, luchtdruk, sneeuwlaag en andere meteorologische variabelen op verschillende niveaus. 

De wind wordt in de applicatie Ventusky op bijzondere wijze weergegeven, nl. met behulp van stroomlijnen, die de voortdurende ontwikkeling van het weer beeldend weergeven. De stromen op aarde zijn voortdurend in beweging en deze beweging wordt door de stroomlijnen prachtig vastgelegd. De samenhang van alles wat zich in de atmosfeer afspeelt, wordt hierdoor goed duidelijk.

De weersverwachting voor de komende drie dagen is in de applicatie per uur beschikbaar. Voor de navolgende dagen is deze beschikbaar per drie uur. Gebruikers op een bepaalde plaats kunnen bovendien ook beelden van webcamera's en gegevens over zonsop- en ondergang volgen.

Dankzij de applicatie VentuSky hebben gebruikers rechtstreeks toegang tot numerieke modellen. De applicatie verzamelt gegevens uit verscheidene van deze modellen. Naast de relatief bekende gegevens van het Amerikaanse model GFS toont ze ook gegevens uit het Canadese model GEM en het Duitse model ICON, dat uitzonderlijk is vanwege zijn hoge resolutie voor de hele wereld.
