## Vinegar Description
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and allows videos to play in the background when set to audio-only quality.

Note: The phrase 'can read and alter webpages' in the permissions section is just an unfortunate choice of words. Vinegar needs access to the webpage to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!

(Also, do check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's essentially a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites except YouTube.)

AirPlay mode doesn’t work. For some time (maybe like a month) AirPlay mode has not worked. I tried a lot, but I can’t get it to work so now I just have to turn off vinegar every time I play yt on Apple TV. It works great on all Apple platforms, has all iOS / macOS features (all of which Google hid behind a paywall). Worth every penny! 🥰
I've tried YouTube Premium and this works much better.
If only it could work on Apple TV.

when I play a video at 2160p and switch the audio output to homepod, the video changes to 720p and that's the maximum I can do. when I turn off the output on the homepod, it allows me 2160p again
