Easy onboarding.

Set up your EX30’s connectivity and certain car features before delivery from the comfort of your home.

Comfortable cabin temperature from start.

Pre-cool or pre-heat the cabin before you go – the cabin air can be pre-cleaned too.

Charging control.

Check the charge level and when the battery will be charged, plus charging history. With the Extended Range battery, you can also set charge limit.

Find charging.

See the nearest public charging station within Volvo Cars’ charging partners network and request for navigation. In future, you can also pay for charging within the app.

Lock and unlock the doors.

Use your phone to check if the car is locked and – wherever you are – to remotely lock and unlock your Volvo.

Control over-the-air updates (OTA).

Stay cool and updated. Via the app, you can manage over-the-air updates at the times that suit you best.

There are too many steps to open this app. So frustrating. Can’t you get it use biometric recognition?

I have only one car, and have had it for 2 wks. I get the can not switch car message about 9 out of 10 times. Signing out used to fix the error, the.ln I switched to deleting and reinstalling. Now not even that works. I am on the latest OS so not sure what the problem is. Also, the few times it lets me in the app, I can not turn on climate control. Tried scheduling, error, setting to now, error. A very frustrating experience all around

Doesn’t work a lot of the time… when it does work it doesn’t work as well as apps for competing EVs. I can’t turn see camera views from the app. I can’t turn heated seats on or off. I can’t adjust the climate control temperature (but I can usually turn it on and off), I can’t roll windows up or down from the app, I can’t turn on sentry mode. I can’t open the frunk, or rear hatch from the app. I can’t tell if the windows are up or down. These are just the things I cannot do when the app is actually working. I still like the car. The app is not competitive in the EV marketplace. Every other EV app I have seen is better. If Volvo doesn’t update this stuff, it will be hard to justify buying another Volvo, which is a bummer because the car is great.

The Volvo EX30 app worked for a few months but in the last 5 days it has stopped working three times, ie it kicks my car out and won’t let me reconnect the car to the app. Only after deleting and uploading the app all over again does it recognize my car.

I have been using the app as my “key”. Yesterday can out, and the app would not open.   Car would not unlock.   App wanted me to again log the car in.

I would have been f’ed if I was not at home.   Went back inside and got the key.

I tied 10 times to use the App.  Would not let me past the add your car screen.

This morning it’s working again, after I selected my car.

You can’t sell a car with the App as a key unless it’s 110% reliable, and this is not.

Bad, bad Volvo.

The app is simple and functional. It has pretty much everything you would expect or need to use. My main gripe is that it logs me out regularly (at least daily) and I have to keep logging back in which involves waiting for the email with the verification code.

Fails 95% of time to do anything remotely—locking/unlocking, climate, etc. We are on all the new software (phone, car) and no improvements over time. Dealer always tells us “sorry—it’s a corporate issue.” If we needed to rely on app interactions we would be extremely unhappy with this vehicle.

The app is limited in what it can do. Keep that in mind, and it works most of the time. I really hope it improves by adding more functionality. It would be nice to have more climate controls, like the ability to set a temperature and turn the AC on/off. The map is pretty useless right now. 
But like I said if you keep in mind the limitations it works.

When I first purchased the car about 2 weeks ago, I was able
to connect the app. A week later, I can't login. When it does finally let me in (occasionally) I can't get past the home screen as it says that I cannot add a car - when my car
is already added. 

Please the app! I love car and it
would be nice to utilize the app that the dealership claims is a must have.

I have never actually been able to use the app. I always get a “could not switch car” error when trying to enter my vehicle. I only have one EX30 tied to my account so I don’t even know what it’s trying to switch to! Incredible lack of care or effort on the part of the developer.
