We got the 1-week pass for £8.99 and it was worth every penny! 

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On one trail (Levada do Moinho - Levada Nova) the offline map feature helped us lead other hikers to the right path as there was no network available and they relied on other apps e.g. Strava, on another the GPS helped us find unmarked paths (Levada do Caniçal - Boca do Risco). The app even alerts you when you have deviated from the trail. 

Other great features include:
- filter system according to difficulty, route type
- in-app link to webcam view from netmadeira.com
- navigation points for starting point/parking (car and bus route)
- whether there are any entry fees AND the ticket capacity for next available time slots for PR slots (you still book on the usual website, but since that webpage is a little hard to navigate this makes things much easier!)

Paid my money thinking from what I read that I would have access to all the walks and be able to download them - absolute rubbish. Can only access onto gps if I pay more money on a monthly basis. Would not have paid for what it offers

I purchased a basic subscription for this app after a personal recommendation. When it didn’t work I tried to upgrade to a pro membership and was charged the full amount for both! And it still doesn’t work. Would not recommend, don’t waste your time with this app.

Update - I was refunded both subscriptions within 48 hours, however I still ended up in the middle of a cloud when I was hoping to watch the sunrise :(

We have walked several of the levadas in the app. I find the location tracking and things to look for on the route extremely useful. We always supplement the route with a map to locate bus stops and starting locations.

I used for a holiday in Madeira. The list of walks was not exhaustive, the information was either not up to date (walks closed as a result of wildfires) or incomplete. There was a lack of in-depth or insightful information - other sources and sites provided better. The links to transport information (particularly buses) was difficult to follow (partly due to the poor & confusing local bus information).
On the plus side the app worked and the geo-location was reassuring generally. However, on the one walk we really needed it, the diversion route was not shown on geolocation so might as well have not bothered. Would not recommend.

We used this to pick and plan three hikes whilst on holiday. It was fantastic! We didn’t get lost, the comments from others are highly valuable. I would just check weather separately for different heights before heading - maybe something to be incorporated into the app. 100% worth the money!

Originally explorer price said 5.50 euros then when I created an account and tried to buy it jumped up to 6.99 pounds which is over 8 euros. It’s not a lot but it should be the same price for everyone.
