Doesn’t work at all. Lost money.

Update 7/2024: What was not good got worse. Don’t bother trying to use the app use the web, which isn’t great either but at least it is free. For a paid app this one is not up to scratch. It often fails to provide access, I think it checks to see if you have paid every time you open it and this takes ages. Copy/paste doesn’t function for texts or addresses sent in a message…. Really needs to be completely redone. Not worth the subscription as it is today

J’ai pu utilisé cette application pour mon voyage en vélo Bruxelles-Barcelone. De bases c’était une initiative gratuite d’entraide, mais par la suite ils l’ont rendu payante. Une inscription à des frais uniques qui devait donner l’accès à toute l’application. Une inscription qui coûte 29,99€. J’ai pu payer ces frais mais après 1 mois on m’oblige de prendre un abonnement payant alors que je venais de payer leurs frais d’inscription. Il y’avait un temps où le concept de ce site internet/app était super intéressant maintenant cela est devenu une ruine de son succès. L’application est lente. Pas mis à jour. Bug. Une énorme latence. Un design vétuste datant de Windows XP. La seul raison que ce site existe c’est pour les gens formidables qui t’accueillent les bras ouverts, mais les obstacles qui ont été créé entre l’hôte et l’invité sont aberrants. Faudrait-il penser à une alternative ?

The idea is very useful but there are a lot of bugs with the app. I pay the annual subscription and I cannot access as guest !!!

WarmShowers used to work OK. Then they updated it and completely ruined it. The website and App are both horrible. I’m exclusively a host in Coos Bay, Oregon. Complaints: 1. Constantly soliciting for money - I understand that it takes money to run a service like this. But this is so horrible, I won’t donate. At least until it works properly 2. The third party thing - I’m performing a free service for WarmShowers and touring cyclists and I’m told third parties are privy to my info!? 3. Workings of the entire website & App are atrocious - failed notifications, expired requests after a few minutes, in ability of host to contact other hosts to coordinate, long periods of apparent outage (got only a few requests all summer and now getting lots in the fall). If there were an alternative, I’d happily switch. If anyone with tech expertise is thinking of starting one, sign me up. If I could award no stars I would. That being said, l love my guests. I seldom turn anyone away (I’m sometimes out of town) and 90% are international travelers - I really enjoy them. A very dissatisfied WarmShowers host on the coast.

App charged me 4 times upon registering and I’m still unable to sign in. We’ll see how talking with customer service goes…

Had so many network errors I couldn’t even register. May the browser works better??

The Warmshowers idea and general service are great; I used it from 2013 to 2016 for my first long-distance tours. But the app and recent redesigns (two over the years?) are embarrassingly amateur level and have made the experience much worse, with technical problems galore. Considering it is now a paid app for full functionality, this is unacceptable.

I am really getting excited about the new app updates. I was very reluctant with the new website and app but I have to say KUDOS!!! It has come a long way and I am excited to say I have hosted 8 cyclists so far this summer. Clicking on message tab will bring up my messages rather than just having it say “0”. It is not without its errors but much improved. I look forward to all the updates and growth to come. WarmShowersHost

This is my first time rating an app. Warmshowers was a source of joy when I bike toured throughout the world in the 2010s. It was free. Now, the organization charges money - and delivers an abysmal app. The app reflects the organization’s deterioration. It’s quite sad.
