WeatherMap+ is an interactive app, which allows you to pan and zoom around a map of the world, switch various weather layers in order to get a comprehensive view of both current and future weather events.

- detail up to 0.25 degrees on land or sea anywhere in the world.
- view how weather conditions change over time for your individual area and weather around the world
- get basic overview of cloudiness, precipitation, temperature, wind speed and pressure in a singe view
- switch between available layers: "all layers", "temperature", "wind speed", "pressure"
- see the weather forecast up to 5 days

A stunning little app which presents many aspects of weather very clearly and simply to facilitate decision making. 
Very user friendly. 
Would benefit as a final touch from an easy display of or way to locate the time zone upon which the weather maps are based. It may be there already but not found it as yet. Could maybe be added to the side of the sliding time bar and with an option for Zulu/UTC time to open the app up for aviation users?

The version I’m using on my iPhone has done away with all the landmasses (and their associated labels) and replaced them with areas of black. Please can this be fixed. This is a major flaw in what was an otherwise very useful app. Now it’s been rendered largely useless....

This is a great app with very good quality radar maps. You can switch on/off the different layers to concentrate on different aspects of weather information. Would recommend.

Just updated to run with iOS10, this is a brilliant app for those seriously interested in weather. A lot of met data is condensed clearly into a very useable, clearly-read form. And this is done on a global basis. If you want to know what's coming your way, this app will give you a good idea.

I use five weather apps and over a three day period of observing the weather at certain times of the day, this app came joint third with Meteoweather app. It's a nice interface, great for viewing high and low pressure areas and wind flow and speed. I would like the app to be able to view cloud only layer, but it's unable to do this, and instead of 3 hourly forecasts, it would be better with 1hourly forecasts. Out of 9 forecasts I recorded, 5 we're correct. The app is also prone to crashing, but hopefully there will be an update soon to correct this problem. I think it's good value for money and I like using it. Let's hope an update comes soon to stop it crashing and also to display cloud layers on its own.

Not very precise. It is raining hard in London now and looks like its gonna be raining for hours, plus its 11 degC. This app doesn't show rain anywhere close to London. Plus 15-16 degC. 
For rain app choose RainAlarm. It's a lot better this one is useless.

Weather apps seem to fall into one of two camps...  they are either give a basic graphical display of the coming weather over the next few days or, for those more interested in delving deeper than 'will it be sunny tomorrow?' there are more detailed apps which give far more info.

Weathermap+ definitely falls into the later category but it is not the most detailed app available.  For those seeking the most comprehensive weather apps, Weathertrack and Weather 4D Pro give more detailed meteorological information.  However neither of those are as easy to just load and browse.  Weathermap+ is a joy to browse.  Simply open the app and you can pan and zoom across the whole planet to see what the weather is doing.  This is remarkably addictive and has made app one of my favourites!

I can't give it anything but 5 stars, but that said, it would really get 5+ if it could animate the maps like 4D weather!

This is a handy app for getting a second opinion on the weather - it uses the GFS model rather than the met office so it can be interesting to see where forecasts differ. It has a couple features better than the met office app - if you tap on a location you can get a line graph of the various charts for the next 72ish hours and has clearer map overlays :-)
