Windy is the complete package. Where other weather apps offer one model or another, Windy has them all. 

Excellent control over how the data is depicted and a huge range of parameters. 

For advanced users, it takes a while to learn how to optimise the settings to suit your needs but once it’s done you will never need another weather app again. 

I use the App for both flying and sailing.

As a paraglider I use weather apps all the time. This is my favourite for detailed information. I use both the app and the desktop version. 
It’s easily customisable with things like paragliding sites. 
The easy availability of ten forecast models to give me an idea of the general average of what to expect is particularly useful.

I’ve tried a year’s subscription but just can’t get my head around this app, sorry!
The layout is crammed with tables, buttons, menus and idiosyncratic icons but I get really frustrated because I can’t seem to find even the basics without spending hours of trial and error “poke and hope”. 
I’m sure there is incredible detail there just waiting to be found but my life is just too short to waste in the search for its holy grail. 
Suggestion: Perhaps the developers could run training courses on using the app, but I’d recommend they restrict the course to under a week.

After years of searching for my primary weather app that matches my needs (crazy, I know), I finally found Windy. It’s hands down the best weather app I’ve ever used in my daily life as a weather enthusiast! 

The app has a bunch of useful weather layers that give you all the info you need about the weather now and what’s coming up. The radar and satellite images are super clear and detailed, so you can easily spot any weird weather patterns! And all the other layers such as temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, humidity, all in different global and local models like UKV and ECMWF is such a game-changer for us meteorologists!

Windy’s interface is super intuitive, making it a breeze to use. And the best part? You can customize the color scheme for different weather layers! I love this feature because it helps me quickly understand the data

Windy is an exceptional weather app, but there are a few things I’d love to see in the future that could make it even better:

* Notifications for upcoming precipitation, like rain or snow, would be useful, ensuring I’m prepared for last-minute weather changes
* Differentiating precipitation types on radar and radar+ (such as rain, sleet, snow, ice pellets, etc) would be useful for tracking all sorts of weather conditions live
* Dedicated layers for auroras (space weather) and lightning (without radar) would be valuable, especially for those interested in these phenomena
* Notifications for weather warnings and nearby lightning (within miles or km) timely alerts would be beneficial for safety and preparedness

Windy is an absolute must-have weather app! It’s the best out there, hands down. Whether you’re a weather nerd or just need accurate forecasts, Windy’s got you covered. After years of searching, I finally found the perfect app that fits my needs! Thank you, Windy 😎
