Wondery: Discover Podcasts

I’ve had endless pain with this app, here’s a short list: * Crashed CarPlay constantly when open * Drains battery and phone gets red hot when it doesn’t have network and you’re listening to something * Many features don’t work if you’re using an ad blocker like NextDNS * Downloads work about 10% of the time

Loving the British scandal series

Every time I try to listen it gives me a prompt to subscribe to plus. I have already… it then says you have done this already and are good to go! So I click play and again it prompts me to subscribe??!! Very annoying.

I asked for a premium subscription for Christmas and was so excited to fly through podcasts without ads... But the app is beyond awful that I might as well go to apple podcasts and listen to the ads for the amount of times this app crashes, force quits half way through episodes, won't reopen or will only to shut down seconds later... Such a waste of a years subscription

I pay for Wondery+ but honestly i’m going to stop, constantly crashes and will just pause itself mid episode. I couldn’t get through more than 10 seconds of one of my podcasts the other day without it pausing itself.

I love all the shows on Wondery but the app is unreliable. It signs you out randomly, crashes or just freezes up. If it doesn’t bug out, it’s great.

Great content but app crashes A LOT

I pay for a subscription so I don’t have to listen to ads on my favourite shows. I love the choice of podcasts available but there’s a massive flaw in the app software. No matter how up-to-date my app is, it will randomly, persistently and continuously force quit / crash / shut down. I’ve been sat for 20-30 minutes before just trying to start an episode but the app will repetitively force quit. This happens on downloaded and not downloaded episodes. The times when it does work, the podcast plays fine but there’s like a 20% chance of this happening. The other 80% I have to re-open the app every time it crashes just to try and continue an episode. The other day it crashed upwards of 40 times in the space of 20 minutes. I was out shopping and I just wanted to listen to my podcast. What’s more, when you do get to listen after it’s crashed, the playback has jumped backwards a few seconds so on that occasion I listened to the same 4 seconds of audio over 40 times and nothing more because it crashed at the same moment!!! It’s seriously infuriating! Developers need to seriously do some work to make this a user friendly experience!

Was fine until today. Now it’s crashing every few mins and making my phone get really hot. UPDATE: deleted and reinstalled the app. Worked for 4 days and then started getting hot and crashing every few mins again.
