Auf der Suche nach einer Alternative zu ComicZeal, was leider nicht mehr gepflegt wird und seit iOS 16.1 gar nicht mehr funktioniert, bin ich hier gelandet. Viele seit Jahren gelebte Features von CZ fehlen jedoch. Das größte Manko ist die unverhältnismäßig aufgeblasene Verwaltung von PDFs, die das Programm ja nun mal unterstützt. 5 GB an PDFs werden von Yacreader auf 74 GB aufgeblasen und somit ist auch ein 128 GB iPad schnell unbrauchbar. Die Steuerung ist nicht unbedingt intuitiv, Titelseiten werden bei Doppelseiten-Ansicht links und nicht einzeln angezeigt, wie man es erwarten würde. Viel Fummelei.

Optisch eher nüchtern, da gefiel mir CZ wesentlich besser, wo auch ein lokaler Transfer im Netzwerk über den Browser klappte - hier leider nicht. Die Mängel-Liste ist lang und ein Blick ins Yacreader Forum zeigt, dass schon vor Jahren User nach diesen Features fragten oder den besagten oversampling PDF Bug beseitigt sehen wollten, der für mich nun mal ein KO Kriterium darstellt. Wenn hunderte von PDF Comics nicht genutzt werden können, ist es leider echt doof. :( Hoffe auf Besserung, sonst muss leider eine andere App her.

Nach 10 Jahren iOS hat man schon so einige Comic Reader ausprobiert. Dieser hier hat alles. Gut Importmöglichkeiten, eigene Sammlungen, Querlesen auf dem iPhone sogar mit Randbeschneidung, automatische Lesezeichen. Top!!!

YACReader ist schon echt lange verfügbar und eine App die trotzdem immer weiter entwickelt wurde. Es gibt viele sinnvolle und coole features und auch etliche Import-Methoden. Der Comic Reader selbst ist minimalistisch und mit sinnvollen Gesten ausgestattet ohne zu schwer oder zu überfrachtet zu wirken. Hiermit kann man schnell und einfach Comics genießen und das auf die beste und einfachste Art. Klare Empfehlung gegenüber allen anderen Readern.

Love your reader but im missing a couple features to make it perfect:
- Dark mode
- Show clock when options are shown
- Image upscaling/sharpening like chunky
- Please deactivate those ugly folder symbols that for some reason show even when you choose full cover. The folder symbol is still visible and destroys the beautiful cover art.
- Proper webtoons support
- Option to press anywhere on screen to to to next slide not just on some part like chunky reader (very helpful when laying in bed)
On desktop your reader is perfect!

Eigentlich nicht schlecht aber leider hat YACReader doch einige Defizite nicht nur in der Usability. Das Lesen eines Comics ist am Anfang noch recht intuitiv. Doch um das Comic zu schließen und wieder in die Library zu gelangen wünschte ich mir eine bessere Lösung als über den Einstellungen-Button (Zahnrad). Beim Browsen durch die Ordnerstruktur tappe ich immer wieder in die selbe Falle. Ich möchte eine Hierarchie rauf und drücke auf „zurück“, allerdings bringt mich die Schaltflächen direkt auf Anfang. Immer wieder passiert mir das, den unscheinbaren Pfeil übersehe ich jedes Mal. Hier muss dringend eine intuitivere Lösung her.

Das Importieren vom Mac funktioniert tadellos. Auf die fehlenden Infos zu den Comics kann ich verzichten. Aber wo in aller Welt bleiben meine mühsam zusammengesuchten ‚Reading Lists‘? Wie soll ich umfangreiche, serienübergreifende‚Story Arcs‘ in der richtigen Reihenfolge lesen können? Allein die fehlende Möglichkeit ‚Reading Lists‘ zu importieren machen 1,5 Sterne in der Bewertung aus. Ich hoffen hier auf schnelle Nachbesserung. Bis jetzt leider nur Mittelmaß aber mit Potential.

Hiermit macht das lesen echt Spass!
Insbesondere der Zoom ist perfekt gelöst, viel besser als in allen anderen Apps, die ich getestet habe.
Die Library App auf dem Mac ist auch klasse! Endlich ein Programm, das erlaubt eine Ordnerstruktur anzulegen, wie man möchte gerne und dennoch den vollen Komfort bietet.

Zur perfekten App fehlen nur noch einige Kleinigkeiten: Zum einen ein Manga-Modus, zum anderen ist die Synchronisierung noch nicht perfekt gelöst. Würde mir auf dem Gerät Feedback wünschen, wie weit die Sync ist.
Ansonsten sein Geld absolut wert!

### ***** "Stark unterschätzte App"
Ich habe im Netz keine Reviews zu dieser App gefunden, was mich wundert, da die App wirklich gut ist. 

Zusammen mit der gratis Desktop-App, lassen sich Libraries anlegen und importieren. Dropbox-Imports sind ebenfalls möglich. 

Die App ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet und enthält viele kleine Details. 

Das Lesen gestaltet sich sogar auf dem iPhone sehr einfach. Die kluge Zoomfunktion macht das Lesen sogar auf dem kleinen Display zu einem Erlebnis.
