Constant changes to the interface, getting less intuitive and now more clicks to perform the same task (trf between accounts). A good premise to it but if you’re not already using it, I’d suggest there are alternatives We’ve been using YNAB for years and like it overall. The constant interface changes don’t always land. Prefer the old version w the budget (plan) on the Home Screen. The extra spacing between transactions on the spending tab also makes categorising slower as less fits on the screen. -- Simonssista, 2026-06-17 ### *---- "Trending down" I’m close to abandoning YNAB after many years, the tendency towards form over function in such a data entry heavy app is infuriating. There’s surely enough screen real estate to make it work. Maybe have an advanced mode or a setting to always show all fields. The latest update is creating extra clicks to tap through and clear a purchase, making it clunky and more annoying. In the latest update I’ve been disappointed with the Review Transactions section. As I’m very hands on I like to go in each day to categorize the transactions that have come in. I used to be able to press an X in the memo section to delete the default entry and add my own. Now I need to select it all and delete. Also, I now need to press on ‘show more’ to unclear the transaction so that at the end of the week we can match it against our bank statement (we are in Australia). Previously I just needed to scroll down. These two extra steps just take that bit longer to review a transaction which makes the app a bit clunkier in my opinion. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but thought you might appreciate the feedback. -- Rjay6, 2026-06-05 ### **--- "Idiosyncratic at best" If you have massive discretionary spend that you just need to better manage, then I think you’re the use case. But if you’re not always accumulating savings or reducing debt, but just going through a period of trying to predict and hit bills, I’ve found the functionality and outputs idiosyncratic at best, if not just unintelligible and useless. It’s also very expensive with mid functionality, eg re bank feeds. Whilst the app has been updated, the transaction entry has got harder and worse.
