I LOVE this app. I use it daily to ensure I’m keeping on top of my finances. The app is really user friendly and the customer service is phenomenal. It does take a bit to get used to so I suggest giving it a solid month to see how it works. 
The recent update is not great though. Although it looks stylish, it’s completely missed the mark. Now when I want to clear a transaction, I have to hit a drop down menu… if I’m clearing multiple items, this takes a lot of time. Please bring back the old format that allowed me to do that easily!!

I love the idea of YNAB and the methodology, but the usability of the app is getting worse and worse. The update makes transaction entry take twice as long because they have made it more complicated and hidden key fields. It now takes more clicks, and more time. This adds no value. It particularly stings, because the annual subscription is very expensive. Difficult to pay for an app that is getting worse to use.

### *---- "App’s Trajectory is Consistently Downhill"
This app is being made progressively LESS user friendly. The most recent updates removed helpful visual cues and hid important fields behind “see more” buttons (which is grey text on a grey background; hard to see). The ones before that made it take an additional step to see your budget on a BUDGETING app. This is not what you expect for over $100 a year (CAD).

I’ve been a user for 7 years, and the changes over this time have been mostly toward money-grubbing and a poorer user experience. I don’t know what they’re thinking, but it isn’t worth a $100+ a year subscription. I’m not sure I’d invest the time to set it up for free at this point.

Since I’m only a month or two into a subscription, I have to balance walking away from ~$80 left in the subscription or deal with the horrible customer experience. Honestly, I’ll probably walk away from the cash and transition to ActualBudget within the next month or so unless things change FAST.

The YNAB method is great, but this app is way to expensive. There seems to be no vision from leadership. Forced UI changes that make things worse and make tasks take longer. Firing great people. You’re better off looking elsewhere

They keep changing UX that already works, and they made it worse. To change from Inflow to Spending used to be a toggle, now it's a minimum 2-click dropdown. To mark an expense as cleared? Click "Show More" first. I was okay with increasing prices, but worsening the UX is just customer torture.

This app is unfortunately captured by “change for the sake of change”. A recent update exemplifies this. A key feature, the transaction entry screen, was redesigned to hide important fields and options, require more taps, and remove helpful visual indicators / colours. Net result is more taps to do the same thing. 
The app is also beginning to feature ads (even though I pay for it!). 
Unfortunately the trajectory is looking clearer every day. Don’t start using it. Many better and cheaper options.
