Description

123ignition of the Netherlands has become a reputable name in the world of electronic ignition-systems for classic cars. The units are carefully designed with respect for the originality of the classic car. All 123ignition distributors resemble their mechanical counterparts. The outside looks 'original', the inside is 'high-tech' and performs its task without any wear.
With this application, you can wirelessly enter ANY advance-curve and ANY vacuum-curve into the new "123\TUNE+" - range of products. These units work CW ánd CCW, work on 6 Volt ánd on 12 Volt, and they're all equipped with a vacuum- / boost- sensor. You can activate a luxury rev. - limiter (random spark stealing) and you can 'immobilise' the ignition with a PIN-code, to prevent theft.
Now, with the engine running, the iPod / iPad / iPhone can be used to 'TUNE'......one can see the engine-speed, the generated advance, the time, the temperature of the distributor, battery-voltage, spark-energy, vacuum/boost, and...(provided your iOS-device is equipped with a GPS-module) the speed of the car.
After activating the 'TUNE'-button, you can adjust the advance manually plus or minus 5 degrees in steps of a tenth of a degree (crankshaft that is). This result will not be stored in memory though, but can come in very handy finding the optimum advance-curve for your car !!
123\Tune+ distributors will be available to fit : Alfa, Austin, BMW, Citroen ( 2CV, DS and Traction ), Ford-Kent, Fiat, Jaguar, Lancia, Mercedes, MG, Midget, Mini, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Triumph, Volvo and Volkswagen. See our website for more details on the supported models.

Terrific Tool

Lengrep on

This app makes it easy to develop and save ignition curves. The virtual gauges also help you measure the accuracy of your tach and speedometer. Block temperature is useful, as is ammeter and volt meter. Switches easily between vehicles and allows unique access codes.

The new tune feature that allows timing changes while the engine is running works great. Can tune the engine in half the time now.

Brand new and never reads the curve

When I bought the unit new I was able to set a custom curve, and now it never even reads it so I can’t make any adjustments to the tune. It always connects via Bluetooth but sometimes the gauges work and sometimes they don’t.

Very good distributor for BMW 2002

I’ve been using the 123 blue tooth distributor on my ‘76 BMW 2002 since November 2020. Th unit replaced my trusty tii pe vacuum advance Petroniux distributor which I have had for over 20 years and never let me down. Let me tell you that this is one of the best upgrades I made to the vehicle due to my engine set up. Having side drafts require more advance so having the ability to change the timing is a God send. The first thing I noticed is the smooth cold start. Carbs stink in the winter especially Weber DCOE’s without choke cable. With this unit the cold start is effortless. Also the gauge function, GPS speedometer are great because my original Speedometer is definitely off. Thank you 123 for upgrading the gauges with digital tach and curve. I wanted to provide that feedback a long time ago but forgot and voila you added that great feature on the gauge. Today I just happen to notice it it wasn’t there yesterday. All I can say is this is a great ignition upgrade but make sure you use the correct coil. I am using a new Bosch blue coil instead of the resistor and blaster coil I used for the Petronix system. The only other improvement I can think of right now is to improve the clips that hold the cap. They tend to come loose and the cap can come off. For now I pinch the clip to make it more secure but it does loosen with time and vibration of these carbed motors.

Intermittent has potential

Runs good but when you shut down then restart it looses the tune. I’m not getting anything from the vacuum port either so no advance there. I may be doing something wrong but there’s no way to be sure as the instructions are not very good. It’s wanting to work but it doesn’t probably something simple and I am open to suggestions and will update the review accordingly

Good App but needs work for V12 Operation

I have used this app successfully after installing a BT distributor in my 1971 S2 6-cyl Jaguar XKE. I since sold it and bought a 1974 XKE V12 and saw that there is a special order version available. It uses 2 6-cyl units that are interleaved to perform the function. I bought it and after some integration issues caused by a lack of special instructions (changed static timing, different ignition wire order from the Lucas), I finally got it running. The sync between the units was off (second bank fires a little off the middle between the bank A firings), so the German 123 tune seller told me to go to this app and select settings and switch between 2 units to shift the advance of one to sync them. I found that there is a bug in the app where the file names get confused between the two units. Sometimes a read from bank B retains the file name of bank A or vice versa. It then stores the wrong timing. Changing it back is iffy since the names are sticky and editing file names seems to not work reliably. Can you look into multiple BT bank programming and fix this file name bug? It is frustratingly to program one bank and find the changes spilling over to the other bank once I select the other bank and read its data. I have not figured out what exhibits the bug exactly but when switching between units, file names do not stay separated and pop up incorrectly after reading the bank. Correcting is hit and miss. Other than this (and the lack of necessary special instructions for this 12-cyl unit), I am happy with the ability to program the engine.
